We've heard the Big Pimpin story a million times. I wish someone would ask Bun about the making of Get Throwed..
💯
That’s the one. Pimp C sets the tone for that track 🔥
That’s cause it’s Jay Z on there , that’s all the be caring about smh Lol
Alot of people don't know that Z-Ro had a verse for that song and they took it off when they found out(or a little of an influence of what J. Prince wanted)they could or was gonna get get Jay on it
@@quinreal1 imo if it wasn’t for Jeezy, Jay would’ve had the worst verse on the whole song. Give me both Bun and Pimp C’s verse over Jay’s any day of the week. Jay felt out of place
Rest well 2pac🐐💯🙏🏽‼️
Math I love how you do this for the culture and not just NY. Houston and Hip Hop legend sittin in the same room. Love it
Facts. A Week Ago he was cool with doing it, for Volume 2. So suddenly on Volume 3 he was like nah because Tupac? I be feeling like others been putting steroids on that story lol. Also have heard Jay put money on his books for legal fees. Bro showed the South love. From Virginia to New Orleans to Atlanta to Texas. Still mad to this day that the Scarface project never happened with Jay, Mack and Brad.
Shout out to Port Arthur, TX…da PAT
Mannnn Pac was one helluva dude! In Life he had Jay scared to leave Hotel rooms and scared to leave NY 😂 After death he was so Influential he had niggas who Never Met him like Pimp C who was such fans of his legacy and character that they refused to record wit dude! 😂😂 🐐 Sht all day lol ✊🏼💯
Sound like glazy behavior.

R.I.P Pimp C
This conversation just add to the point that the south don’t fuck with us up top ..it really be jealousy and envy in they blood for us up top… Hov did nothing but extend his hand just to get spit back with envy …offer you a record “I’m not coming to New York ..offered sneakers “we don’t wear that shit New York sneakers just for years later for y’all to still wear Ny sneakers smh and just in real life ..I live in the south right now ..and they spew hate for New Yorkers… even by calling me New York that’s hate ..so I called them all Georgia 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
it goes both ways homie.. most tri state cats think Virginia's the south.. (it is but you know what i mean)..for the longest time they wouldn't fuck with the south.. took mcs, like kiss, fat joe, styles p.. few others to really open it up for unification.. all them "imma bring ny back" ass rappers couldn't do it but them buffalo cats did it without saying shit.. and they fuck with southern cats.. so its a revolving door my dude.. remember jay said he wasnt leaving either.. so it wasnt just pimp.. it was auto assumed pimp would go there.. when they wanted him.. pimp wasnt a dude that needed collabs.. nahmean
Nigga New York DIDNT fuck with the south either😂😂,,, nor the west, Shit was divided,,, Dont try to make it seem like the south was the bad guys of hip hop😂😂 didn’t no coast fuck with each other for a while, Then the shit all came together
@@djachiliesand you think Jayz needed him ..pimp said no to the song” just a week ago” and it still did what it did without him.. Hov extended a hand..he was who he was..so yea he was doing them a favor…and far as the south ..y’all niggas ain’t get active til 98 99 ..hip hop been around since 1983 or some shit y’all was just late as usual.. that’s all.. that’s why you name ppl like kiss and fat joe cuz the south ain’t have a name til the early 2000’s … give me an 80’s down south rapper , name 20 south rappers that was in the 90’s that have a name now!!!
@@krownheightsgang7053you sound dumb 😂😂😂😂
Jay needed the south that’s why he jumped on “ha” remix with juvenile and kept asking UGK to get on a song.. know ya history.! Juve sold 4 mill out the gate. Jay never did that sir. Jay never had a run either. Roc a fella had a run not just him
@@krownheightsgang7053master p was the 1st 500 million dollar man from the south before a Jay z as well.
Math bro u need to go back to the “ only smack rapper that a smack rappers got bars I can hang with the back packers trap star I don’t hang “ that joint😅😂😂
Chill bro it WAS big but it doesn't stay playing today like that
Dame and Jay z weren't big pimping they were big tricking and that's why pimp c didn't wanna do the record at first.
Facts 💯
I think it was Pimp not Bun leaving the south. Pimp wanted to represent, we don’t know what UGK could have done by now?
I never heard of any Texas rappers besides slim and Paul. Texas rappers ain’t got a global sound. The music doesn’t transcend. Deebaby and Mexican ot the only ones I see that can break out. Sauce walks and peso couldn’t do it.
Never heard of UGK? Scareface which is one of the best lyricist dead or alive? Travis Scott? Megan Thee Stallion? Chamillionaire, Tobe Nwigwe?
@@Latrice_sleeps I’m from the 80s and never heard Texas on the radio. I’m in New York at the time. Moved here to Texas 5 yrs ago and all the artist here I never heard of. I take Texas music to New York on occasion. When I do play it up north, everyone ask to change the music. No one says , who that? so I play ny. Megan, travis is now. Who else? Bun b burgers down here is overhyped , I still spend paper at his spot though. I play some travis once a year. That’s about it
sorry but bun used to be my guy but you didnt stand up during pimp death and we know it was foul play and im a leave at that but its much more to the story
Bun B just love lying for some reason 🧾
I moved from Houston to NYC in 99 and no one would take my recommendations on listening to UGK or even the Geto Boys. They knew Mind Playing Tricks and that's it. It took Big Pimpin to really opened up their eyes to Texas. That track slowly but surely changed the game for UGK and a lot of Southern artists in general. Big ups to Bun B for seeing the potential and encouraging Pimp C to take part.
Naw. They new about Face back then
@@doncardi8699 - some heads did but the majority slept on the South. I'd say Scarface didn't start getting love in NYC until The Fix which dropped a few years after Big Pimpin.

I hope math is able to get a banger song and release TH-cam viewers from pressing fast forward all the time. 😢😢
Yeah you not lying Math should have enough self awareness to know putting that mid song as a intro to EVERY video is ridiculous.
Bun B had the dopest bars on that song to me, that flow was sick!

Then Jay, then pimp basic bars.

The Hov Hate In The Comments Is Unreal!!!!!!!!!! Rest In Peace Pimp C & Salute to Bun B On Your Honesty!!!!!
Pimp C's whole verse on that song seems like a subliminal to me, iykyk.
Its crazy that dude in the red said he never knew what Houston sound like but you already had the Geto Boys that were out. Do people always forget that the Geto Boys are from Houston?
I’d argue that GB’s work before UGK (not just them but time-wise) didn’t exactly “have a Houston sound” though
They got unto the South bc of JayZ… as they’re sayin, but Biggie was unto Scarface & Geto Boys a little before that to put the East Coast on more then + Nas mentioned catching a body & heading to Houston on NY State of Mind / Illmatic, before Jay came out.
@@raydolla Biggie met UGK back in 93 going into 94 and Big was a fan.
@@joojoobaw Well GB had a west coast meets east coast style. That’s why people cater toward them plus they didn’t come off sounding “country”.
@@joojoobaw Willie D is probably the first rapper to lay on his country accent THICK. Willie was the one that was unapologetically Southern. I think Scarface made a valid attempt to not sound so country as Willie in the beginning. But Willie D let it be known where he was from.
2Pac was really 'cool' with Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer.

Facts. Which is why it was so obvious he didn’t wanna do the battle rap interview with Tay Roc and Chess because he wasn’t talking lol. That fool talks more than everybody in every interview lol
I’m from da trill 409 pimp da godfather he always wanted to keep it kuntry rap tunes no knock on nyc but we know they didn’t rock with da south like that !!!
In another interview Pimp brought up what 3 stacks said at the 95 Source Awards about the South having something to say. I'm sure deep down he wanted to do the track but was not going to make it easy for Jay out of wanting NY to start respecting artists from the South.
what did he say
Jay respected UGK, though.. They made crack music and that's what Jay sold. "Pocket Full of Stones" was the biggest D-boy anthem since "Dope Man" by NWA. Pimp was just being loyal to Pac. So he wasn't trying to ride wit Pac's enemies. That's probably why Bun told the story of Pimp talking to the Pac poster and getting his approval. That's corny as hell when you think about it, but I guess he felt he had to do that in order to do the song.
Pimp C also said Atlanta is not the south.
@@grinchoi1that's pure ignorance or trolling when he said that
@@ALexander-ue3kj which one is it?

@@Polostar79they was already making hella bread in the south tho, they were gonna be good regardless. Like he said, it was more about integrity then the money. He was standing on what he stood on
@@SuperbNProsper so you saying because they was already making bread in the South they couldn’t have made more bread across America? Pimp C ain’t gotta personally like Jay-Z but you don’t refuse to do music with the biggest artist out over loyalty to a dude you never met. That’s just dumb business. The fact that Bun had to talk him into it just proves that.
@@Polostar79 Ofcourse they didn’t. Just like Jay didn’t have to do the song with them. Either party was gonna still be good regardless. They literally just spoke on turning it down the 1st time on the song with Too Short. That ain’t hurt Jay pockets nor did it hurt UGK’s pockets. This wasn’t a situation where they desperately needed to do that song , was it a great move in the end , hell yeah of course, it’s a legendary song.
But neither party needed to do it. It’s not always about the money. I’m not saying Pimp C was in the right or wrong either , it’s just the principle about him standing on how he felt. Whether he knew Pac or not. Or just like how he said he wasn’t gonna go to NY & Didn’t, & Jay said he wouldn’t go to Atlanta & didn’t.
Real ish… Math great podcast… That music is horrible tho. Can’t have one like a Pringle… FOH😂
Bun B the Legend! Great interview
Pimp C verse was legendary and simple
Chaka Zulu is a one of one. Grew up in the movement, his pops was a real one (RIP). Pledged Sigma at Clark Atlanta University when I was at Morehouse. Met him at my crib partying on Peeples Street.😎🎉 We bonded over the film Style Wars and have been down since then. I'm happy he's healed and beat that case ✊🏿❤️
It's slim thug not young thug . Mecc is the worst.
2018 Concords > gratitude 11’s.
Idk how Timbo won the lawsuit for this song lol. Also we all know the story Pimp aint wanna do the track which is why his verse is what it is and the video…he truly lived the group name.
Big up to Bun for keeping it real about the industry from olds to now.
Bun has truly become a respected icon particularly of southern hip hop. Dude really articulates the regional sound and culture to very high level!!
He said young thug, it was Slim Thug....
Loyal to a man you never met. Almost miss out on the biggest hit of your career. Feeding your fam forever off that.
Weird shit man
His music feeds his family, without big pimpin
This type of thinking is why he didn't want to do the record. He didn't need Jay-Z. He did the song to appease Bun.Real ppl stand on their principles.Bone Thugs n Harmony didn't want to work with Biggie because they lived Pac. It also took a whole lot of convincing. Everything ain't about money.
Yeah Pimp was on some small thinking angry nonsense that almost saw him miss opportunities. A very local minded dude. Plus loyalty to a man he never met.
@rdelacruz8949 Everybody doesn't care about money. He was already doing his thing before Jay-Z and maybe you didn't hear Bun B say he still didn't care about the song. That song was not the highlight of his career.

It's funny that people get on social media and try to rewrite history (without a pen) and say Jay-Z wasn't big down south. After Hard Knock Life, Jay-Z was big everywhere.
1995 was honestly the shift towards the South in the mainstream, thanks to André's speech at the Source Awards.
