Love the fact you made a channel for your passion, going against the monetization grain. Been watching your other channels since the crypto days, you're a champ!
Got directed here from your second channel. Pretty dope to see we share a love for this magnificent gem of a game. 10 EDH decks, a modern deck, and 2 pioneer decks for me and counting.
I Stopped playing in 1999, last year I bought a 1000 card bulk lot and the same happened. I will say this now that I'm back in I found commander and haven't looked back. I hope this channel grows maybe even some commander games with fans. We love you brother keep grindin'!
I love talking about Magic but have no friends that play it with me apart from my wife (who’s a lot more casual), so it’s nice to have one of my favorite content creators talking about Magic❤
Nice to see you branching out buddy with some cool hobbies. Just getting back into magic myself after a long break. Hope the new channel gets the attention it deserves. ☺️
I already enjoy just the idea of you rambling so the topic doesn't really matter, so you know what this channel is just perfect for me lol. I know nothing about MTG tho 😂
Interesting start with some really old cards on a weird lot deal. My instinct is that you got fleeced, but looking at the hermit druid even damaged copies are listed for around 10$. I always figure most lots have been picked clean of anything valuable, and that hermit druid slipped through because Stronghold didn't have colored rarity set icons yet so they thought it was a common maybe.
She messaged me later, showed me the skullclamps in another image and told me that she "found" more cards and she would sell them to me. To which I replied that she already sold them to me and didn't deliver what she showed me, at which stage she said "she sold me the others, now I need to buy these too". I closed the chat and stopped replying. She for sure fleeced me, but it is what it is. At least I got some cool cards and a start to a channel out of it, even if the cards are mostly worthless!
Yo Kira! Be sure to learn how to do the light test on the back of the cards to see if they are real. Also get a loupe to look at the mana symbols for authentic print. The light test is quick and can save you thousands.
I do love seeing the old cards. It's stuff from long before I even knew about magic. It's fun to see Them I've gotten one or two but nothing of real value. I think they are cool cards.
World Champ deck cards aren't tournament legal so your prices might be wishful thinking, especially in their condition. But if you're going just to play for fun then they work just as good as the legal ones and will save you money. I think you at least got your money's worth though.
That's an awesome return on investment really for a partial scam lol. I think that's what they are aiming for? Like make it seem like you gonna get way more but then you seemingly make your money back so you will forgive them? Where would someone totally new to magic start with mtg? Like the base game and not the commander series.
I think its so silly that these cards are "not tournament legal". I wonder if you'll do a video discussing things like game piece availability vs arbitrary collector "value". If you even have any opinions on that. FWIW, that is one of the few aspects of Yu-Gi-Oh that I think Konami does better than MTG. They reprint cards all the time, but at different rarities with alternate foil treatments signifying the rarity. I think that's the best middleground I've seen to date of trying to serve players and collectors. IMO, WotC's reprint policy only caters to "greedy", forced-scarcity collectors and does a huge disservice to players' access to game pieces/mechanics. That said, I pretty much exclusively play jumpstart (other than Arena as F2P only), because it just barely passes the threshold of what I find acceptable when paying for a lootbox as it would be called today.
Absolutely will be discussing the financial aspect of magic as that's something I've always focused on as a gamer and gaming content channel for sure. I've only ever been into Magic, except the early and young pokemon days so honestly I'm going to struggle to compare to other trading card games. I played yu-gi-oh briefly in school, but so long ago I remember very little idk where my cards even eventually went to. That will be an area of knowledge I'm entirely deficient in sadly.
@@KiraMTG If you have time to research other games or maybe even reach out to other TH-camrs in the TCG space I have no doubt you could bring more clarity and insight into the topic. Honestly, I've only picked up MTG (Jumpstart) in the past couple years as it was the first time I saw something I thought was fair enough in the TCG space. So I am by no means an expert in any game or format. Would love to see someone explain and contrast different business models in depth.

I've never played/followed MTG, but looking forward to learning about it. I've got a lot of friends who are into it, so should be an interesting ride.

Damn, just in time I got into MTG again after some colleagues wanted to learn how to play
Amazing timing then :D

Yeah I have those and have done. One thing about thailand is that you don't really get fakes to be honest.
@@KiraMTG Ok good! just making sure haha. Looking forward to more MTG Kira!
Damn hate that ya kinda got scammed but still a fun experience. Cant wwit to see what else you end up finding

My cats also absolutely love to try to play with my cards when I pull them out 😂
