I petty much decided to learn Italian because of this song. I played other songs in Italian on the violin for a friend and I sang for this person and I was so glad that I had this opportunity to be able to go and play for this person and sing for them since I knew that they really liked the music. After having a falling out I had more time so I though with all of this beautiful Italian music around such as this song why not learn Italian. I sang to this person in Spanish, English, French, Italian and Chinese but out of all of those languages I never studied Italian until now. This person did not say I needed to learn Italian, but I though that if I can a change to play for this person again then at least I will be able to understand what I sing.

Another amazing version is the one performed by Peter Gabriel, recorded for the film "Shall We Dance". As an Italian, I must point out that the words have been changed to fit the language shift, thus losing a bit of the original literal meaning, but I think its message still arrives loud and clear!

This is one of my favorite track from this album. Zucchero's voice blends so well with the cellos, it is like listening to three cellos.
