@@imcurious1009 Thanks mate. Must be airlock there somewhere. Filling from the bottom pushes all the air out the breather or filler until its 100% full. We get an extra day offgrid now that the tanks are full to the max.
Thanks mate. It definitely makes it quick and easy to fill from the bottom, wish i had done it ages ago. And we proved that that tanks get 100% filled and now getting an extra half a day out of each tank....thinking they were never fully filled with top filling and the airlocks that come with that.
That's great thanks mate. We went away for the first time in our jayco 16.52-3db.ob Plugged into mains water in the caravan park and didn't realise the pump was still on. I think I might have stuffed a non return valve because both water tanks filled up on there own some how? Any advice on that would be appreciated... Cheers
G'day mate, i have heard of this happening and can suggest it may be the non return valve under the bed right near the pump and hot water system being faulty, and letting water pass back through the pump which it shouldnt make a difference if its on or not, when connected to mains. I have just replaced our NRV at the pump because we were having issues with hot water pressure on the pump and seems to have fixed the problem. Will have a video coming out this Friday arvo on that and hot water maintenance. Its a bit fiddly trying to work in that small area to replace it but would be giving that a go first to replace the NRV for under $30, and that will stop any mains water getting to the pump and to the water tanks, which is the only way mains water would get to the tanks. Let me know how you go mate. Can contact me through FB page if you need more help.
I don't see what the problem is. What's the hurry to fill the tanks? I never have a problem filling from the top . You seem to have the tap on to much I have the tap on a slow fill and never have water gushing out when full.
No problem mate just works a lot better filling from bottom to push all the air out and fills 100% full quicker, which is great for the next person in line at a fill point.
I'd heard about filling from the bottom and now I know how to go about it. Thanks mate, Cheers !
great vid.simple idea cheers
Hi Brad. Great idea for the water fill. What I do on any clipon fittings is put a blanked off hose fitting. I fill them with Silastic.
@@barryleddicoat9426 Thanks mate. Thats exactly what i have done 👍

My sentiments exactly regarding bunnings!
Very informative..will try this as I can't get any more than 75 litres in to 2 x 70 litre tanks

Excellent video thank you, we have a 19ft snowy and have terrible air locks so will give your solution a go. Cheers Mark.

A tip my Dad told me, use food grade plumbers paste as well as tape, fittings never ever leak.
