It made me sad to hear him say he stops himself from thinking about a young beautiful girl in a relationship type way. Like why??

It's easy for him to attract any young pretty girl but in his advanced age he knows it will most likely lead to something no so serious.

I feel like John Mayer is one of the few people who can actually say exactly what they think , meaning that he finds the exact words to describe what’s going inside his brain. There’s nothing more difficult then trying to express yourself through words when you’re still trying to process what your brain is trying to say. I wish I could be as fluent as John at talking. It might sound weird but John is as great at talking as he is at playing guitar.

Yes! I scrolled the comments to check if someone else noticed it too… which is a great example of what John said in the interview about his struggles with a relationship. Must be frustrating and lonely to have such an effervescent mind and speak a language only very few can pick up. Damn.
@@tgreice I can feel John Mayer lift the fake food tray with his sleeve while making the joke, hearing it bounce, and thinking "f**k-- that wasn't clean." Then tapping it forward in defeat as a way to say "f'k*n tray... you messed me up..!" with an immeasurable amount of embarrassment in that moment. That's what makes him real in my opinion.

This interview is so adorable. I love the spark of brilliance that occurs on the regular with John Mayer, and it just bounces off Kerwin's playful personality perfectly and transitions into more gems from Mayer. I love the set and how Kerwin keeps picking up plastic burgers and bagels and pickles and stacking them like a child while John Mayer slowly becomes Kerwin's new therapist. I mean Mayer may be overly talkative and kind of a know-it-all who isn't ALWAYS on point but he does have a hell of a lot of wisdom and that wisdom is buried in his soul and in his music so I could listen to him speak in this environment for 10 hours straight with a childlike face of joy on my 26 year old scruffy face.
This is very beautifully articulated, and I feel the same way.
There is literally no words to express my love for this guy. He’s genius, he has amazing sense of humour, he’s one of the most talented musicians alive.. I’m so lucky that I’m living in a same period time of time with John Mayer. He’s an icon, legend that the world never could even get. I love you John, I’m so glad to see you this happy and fine. Thanks for this interview, this was all I needed! Idk how will I wait until April but I’m pretty sure the album will be another masterpiece.
I feel the same. For those that understand him, really get him, the connection is so intense. I’m forever grateful for everything he gives. He deserves it all. He’s worked really hard for it.
I’m 31 years old and have changed a lot in my life. Interests have come then gone many times. I still don’t know who I am or what I want out of life. However, one thing that has always been consistent, ever since I was 12 years old listening to Room for Squares for the first time, is my love for John Mayer and his music.

I feel like we truly grew up together seeing that thank God he was discovered & all & I'd already been downloading his shows from college gigs etc off Bearshare for at least a year before RFS came out. Was also really lucky to live barely over an hour from Atlanta, so not only did he always end the tour there back in our heyday - I found my way into some pretty exclusive "afterparty" shows due to being an early "super fan" on the site "My Stupid Mouth". I was pretty hot in my 20's (not doing so shabby in my 40's either lol) so I'm sure that didn't hurt. Haha. Man those were THE DAYS!!! The Trio days were so EPIC I want to cry just mentioning them 💗

As someone to has watched many interviews with Mayer, this is might be the best. The best qualities of Mayer’s mind and personality were on full display. What a beautiful personal evolution.
My grand plan at this point:
1.) Become like a huge internet talent.
2.) Start an interview show
3.) Have John Mayer on to just listen to him speak. My god the guy just sounds so intelligent

I’m 27 and watching this interview again. John’s points are so spot on about moving forward and not living in the past/along with becoming more selective finding a good woman(partner). The older I get the more this video ages like fine wine.

Literally watching this video with a pen and writing down takeaways. Listening to John Mayer talk in an interview can be like listening to a professor that you really respect, and really want to grasp and understand some of the things they say.. just to get that much closer to how their mind works and how they see the world. And hopefully some of that wisdom/good shit will subconsciously flood over into your art and way of thinking too.
