The Syrian opposition has named a leader to form a transitional government, a day after the collapse of the Assad regime. Mohamad Al-Bashir ran the administration of a small pocket of North East Syria before the 12-day lightning offensive that swept into Damascus. Farah al-Atassi, a former senior member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, provides further insight into the situation.

@@courierton9217 It's a loss for Iran and Russia but in the long term, Israel is finished. Nobody can rehabilitate them. Hundreds of thousands of Israelis leave the country and in about 5 years it won't be the same. And now Turkey, Jordan, Syria, and unfortunately Lebanon are next to the Salafi Jihadist state. As they say, be careful what you wish for and now they are like the dog that caught the car. Chaos has already started in the Kurdish area, Kurds want to create their own state which is a red line for Turkey and Kurds are supported by the US. The real nightmare for Syria has just started.
