    I'm sure it burns the fuel up spinning around in the mud like that. I know my equipment does. Hard on the equipment. But that's some kind of a machine. A tractor, wagon that pulls, and a loader. I guess the seat spins around like the most all new skidders?

      @@oddom6667 yes it can be like this in spring time a lot of years at least in mid sweden were I come from. However most people and companies aren't drivning under this conditions. They harvest areas with more solid ground during wet periods, its not economical and it's also not much companies that is happy when machines sinks deep.

      They are cut to the right dimensions for the mill directly. Making handling easier and increase profits.

      We had 2 different Massey Ferguson tractors with their engines. MF 8160 w/ 7.4L and MF 8470 w/ 8.4L and both were great power for fuel efficiency, and both were reasonably quiet too!

    We try and log muddy areas in the winter when the ground is frozen here in the U.P. But often in the spring during thaw we get into nasty mud like that. People that don't think these guys are making money are not real bright.

    All I can say about the first machine is it is badass. But I don't understand why they don't put rubber tracks on them from the factory because 95 percent of them have steel tracks at least on the back tires

      @@timbowalk those on the back are to steel tracks they make the same thing for rubber tire skid loaders and yeah they used chains on the front but those chains are designed for mud and other offroad conditions but they have a different pattern than snow chains

      They are trying to make rubber tracks for them, but they come off a lot easier when driving over rocks and stumps. And this way you have a choice between riding on just the wheels, or fitting the tracks. Sometimes it is better with just wheels, or maybe snow chains on the rear as well.

    It is more like the opposite of skill to rape the ground like that, a skilled forwarder will find different ways to not destroy the ground.

      Everything is used at the factory, small trees are for paper and that kind of product, big logs are cut up to building materials and the stuff that is bent and crooked or just too short is made to firewood

      roguesquatcher I am a qualified forester and have worked in forestry for 40 + years and I still work in commercial forestry today so please dont takk to me about forestry as you obviously dont know anything about SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT.

      Did you ever hear about forestry in Baltics. What you mean with unsustainable forestry. Is it muddy road or clearcut? Did you ever hear about countries whre planting is inevitable, otherwise you cant get permission for forest harvesting in future? Never talk about sustainable forestry if you dont know local laws.
