And it was supposed to be the Oilers year.....but lots of drama and it was the end of the Oilers reign.

I love your passion! They had a great run from 1987-1993. So many talented players.
I was an Cincinnati Bengals fan back on the last 1980s and early 1990s mostly because of James Brooks, Anrhony Munoz and Tim Krumrie.
The AFC central was an exciting division. Every game was intense and hard hitting.

I grew up in Houston and followed the Oilers as far back as the Earl Campbell era but I have no recollection of this game. In the second half ending with a Del Greco FG with 7:32 left the game had gone Hou turns over the ball on downs, then Pit turns over the ball on downs, then Moon throws an INT in the end zone, Kevin Greene is hit for a personal foul after the INT so half the distance, then Tomczak immediately throws an INT to Dishman leading to Del Greco's 3rd FG. The Choke in previous year's playoffs then the 1-4 start really deflated many fans. Reliving this Oilers season building up to their best record since the 1980 season is very entertaining.

The Oilers of the late 80s and early 90s were talented but dysfunctional. Jerry Glanville was good for helping them mature when they were young. But the Man in Black and leaving tickets for Elvis antics wore thin. Pardee was a good man, but he wasn't the type of leader that was needed to keep the big egos in check. If they had a Bill Cowher or a Belichick to set the tone, they definitely win at least a Super Bowl.

I'm a Bears fan but the Oilers of this era always fascinated me. It has struck me that this 1993 team was the only AFC team that could have done better than the Bills did in any of the four years in which Buffalo appeared in the Super Bowl (all AFC teams from 1990-1993). This year's Oilers team sure seemed to have what was needed to put the hammer down on Dallas in that Super Bowl- a quality running back, great passing, the defense playing lights-out with Buddy Ryan leading the defense, they really seemed to have what was needed.
Too bad we won't find out how that would have turned out. They were a fun team to watch. What do you guys think? Am I out of line for saying this or would you guys say this year's Oilers team the best of the Warren Moon era?

Nothing personal against Head Coach Jack Pardee, but if you give a Bill Parcells, a Joe Gibbs, a Bill Walsh, or a Bill Belichick, that type of talent the Houston Oilers had, I believe the Oilers would have won at least 2 Super Bowls. That's my personal opinion though.
