Imagine if you will, Cyclopsis fighting the Shogun Megazord. It would just stand there unfazed by all its attack until it brings out its sword and BAM! Just like that ends Cyclopsis in one hit😂
I am now in my 30s and the "Give me your best shot!" followed by the zords letting loose on him before forming the Megazord WITH the music. STILL gives me goosebumps!
I'm 33 and that powermetal with the dinozords and dragonzord still give me the same feeling as a kid, cheers to all my fellow 90's kids. MMPR was a huge influence on my music taste.
First time I watched that as a kid, I got pretty worried considering the Rangers took the worst beating they ever took since the Green With Evil storyline. But you know once that music kicked in Goldar and Lokar have had it!
That’s what I liked about these classic zord/monster fights in PR-they were entertaining, but there were moments where these battles would get visceral, namely in the multi-parter episodes. You felt the stakes rise higher.
That’s why nothing can really top MMPR. These Zord fights decided most of the bouts, and as a kid when you saw them losing a battle in them it felt more serious. Just like the island of illusion episode..
My favorite was the Cyclopsis battle round 1 when the rangers were getting beat but Zordon calls Titanus himself and tells them to activate Ultrazord. Some versions removed Zordon's lines but it really added to the epic-ness when Zordon came to the rescue.
Not many realize that in the original Japanese series, 'Lokar' was Rita's Master, not the other way around, and was actually literally named Great Satan. I think was the last episode of the "Original original" series.
You are actually not far off. The villains actually had a bit of a "Wizard of Oz" theme. Rita was the Wicked Witch of course. If I recall correctly: Goldar I believe was the Scarecrow, the blue guy was the lion, and the one with the monocle was a flying monkey.
Nothing in the history of Power Rangers comes close to this Zord fight. Both Rita and the Rangers throwing absolutely everything at each other, it's just non stop from start to finish (even the Megazord sequence is shortened!)
Cyclopsis is definitely tough hombre man I almost forgotten of how powerful that mighty machine is it definitely gives the rangers and their megazord a huge run of their money and I wouldn't mind having cyclopsis as my personal megazord on my team for a few kicks and giggles. And by the way my friend bb rules and is a great video too love it. And here's hoping and praying for that hasbro will make a lightning collection toy of him.
This was my childhood. I was in full panic mode when the zords were being beaten. Seeing the way cyclopsis got taken down eased my troubled child soul. I miss this show so much!
I used to watch this but my mom threw me down a flight of stairs and signed me up to play football to butch me up. Had no idea Rita and lord Zedd got married. Ahh the 90s
You know I have to say this Rita and her minions have zero tactical skills if they had access to cyclopsis all along why did they wait till now to use it me I would have used after the 2nd or third encounter before the rangers had gotten settled into their zords and powers
Aside from this the only times I remember the villains some what having their own zords was with: Serpentera(Mmpr season 2) That one robot in the final of Time Force(Time Force) Dark Predazord controlled by Zen Aku(Wild Force) Zel Zord controlled by Zeltrax(Dino Thunder) Hunter and Blake Brady/Thunder Ranger's back when they were evil rangers(Ninja Storm)
Fun fact: The original script explains that reviving Cyclopsis, bringing her palace to Earth, and summoning Loki for help massively drained her magic abilities. The intended final was that after they Destroy cycopsis, the rangers stormed the palace and have a final climatic human size battle with Goldar and Scorpina and a drained rita. Zordon breaks out of the time spell and controls the megazord and seals the villains in the space dumpster once and for all. I imagine she didn't have enough magic to make her monsters big at the time. Plus finster and the others besides Goldar and Scorpina are not battle experienced.
@@robertlunderwood Better maneuverability, usage of arms and legs, less weight to carry around, the list goes on. The only thing UltraZord had was fire power, which could be concentrated to not need all the cannons, and incorporated into the proposed version as I noted, Mega DragonZord.

When that shit collapsed a few seasons later I was FUCKED UP.

Cyclopsis pretty much owned the rangers most of the fight.
@@ladyfire44 I think even in the first fight before Lokar appeared only the Ultra Zord was strong enough to take down Cyclopsis.

DragonZord Battle Mode should have been the one called MegaDragonzord, and he should have been more powerful than UltraZord.
