It has been said for its size (and population size) Leeds has a lack of light/heavy railed rapid transit. However I dont think many people have actually seen the geography of the area (the mass of The Chevin and the height of Ben Rhydding as we go into Ilkley Moor, indeed there could be a strong call for much of the farmed area being a National Park, or extensions of existing ones. Ilkley has its rail back to Leeds and elsewhere - but the link via Embsay into Skipton is lost, and only an increase in population and house/flat building would justify more rail to North West Leeds beyond that which already exists (Horsforth). You have already rode the 34 Otley via Pool into Leeds which compliments in the valley the route the X84 takes on the ridge way , and the limited stop nature of the route is complimented by other stopping buses along Headingly and out to other city destinations.
somewhat of a rail replacement bus, as Otley lost its rail service (and Burley in Wharfdale is going the wrong way to get back into Leeds ! ) Used to run every 15mins to Otley with 2 journeys extended to Ikley, one of those extended to Skipton. Cut back pre coved to every 20 mins with two extended Ikley one onto Skipton, I then moved out the area but understand Transdev have increased slightly Skipton- Ilkley Keithley services to compensate for the loss of Skipton
Central Leeds , like so many towns, has lost many of its department stores , annoying after House of Fraser spent so much effort acquiring many across the country. The loss of local gas and electricity showrooms, banks, is also notable.
I’ve been on that route 2 times also I’m a big fan of your buses❤

I wasn't aware of the rail cut backs. Maybe one of these days I'll take a ride to Skipton. Thank you for your comment

It is sad, the same applies to high street shops as well. Thank you for the comment
