If you use 3/4" instead of 1.5" width boards, you won't spoil any of the pegboard holes as the 3/4" will fit between the rows of pegboard holes.

Thanks for the video, good framework. I still can't believe Phillips is still so common in America. You probably wouldn't be getting the slippage if you were using Robertson screws, but you wouldn't want to do that, it was invented by a Canadian (oh my god!). Hahaha, good video thanks again!

A lot of deck screws are T-20 star bit to avoid slippage. Sometimes they include the bit in the screw pack.

I'm looking to put up some peg board in my basement for a workshop(no room in the garage). The basement is currently unfinished. I'm planning on putting up studs but no drywall, would you still recommend putting up 1"x2"s to frame the pegboard?

You may be able to just use the studs

Great video! Good job. I have one question. In the location I want to put the pegboard, the studs in the wall don't align with the edge of where it will be. Is it still going to work out ok if the frame boards don't align with the edge?

What screws did you use to attach the peg board to the furring strips? Were they the same "deck" screws you used to attach the strips to the dry wall studs? You said you used 2.5" deck screws. What length were the screws used to attach the peg board to strips?

  • @scrambler350

That white pegboard is the way to go, you'd be surprised how bad that normal, brown pegboard soaks up all the light.

You should try out the new metabo drills they will blow the Ryobi out of the water. I just got a impact for $99 with a battery and a charger and a highly recommend it because it looks like you're struggling with that ryobi. Kinda looked like you had too small of a bit for the screws but what do I know. The pegboard looks good though

Instead of using a furring strip as a frame to create space between the pegboard and drywall, I like to use a simple washer and bolt between the pegboard and drywall.
