ex: I slept in the bed, it was warm and comfortable.
On the bed means you're physically on top of the blankets/bed sheet.
ex: I did my homework on the bed.
We don't use at the bed.

We say on bus, on plane, on train
But we say:
in the car, in the taxi.

Both can be correct depending on what you are trying to say.
I sleep in a bed. This means under the blankets and sheets. You are in bed.
I sleep on a bed. This means you lie on a bed, without any blankets or covers, or else you lie on top of the blankets and covers. You might do this if you are just resting or napping for example.
I lay on my bed for a while and took a nap. I slept on the bed.
I got under the covers and went to sleep. I slept in the bed.
