As a person on an average salary in my early 30s, trying to buy somewhere. What chance do I have of competing with wealthy people, investing in property to accumulate more wealth? I literally spend all of my salary on rent. Society is now so polarized on generational lines of inequality, which is causing deep rooted social issues. What kind of society do we all want to live in? I feel completely and utterly demoralised and disfranchised. The sooner housing is a resource for the social good, for providing a roof over a families head and not a commodity, for an extra pension pot or an investment return, the better!

This is a result of capitalism. Wealth is sucked from the middle class and funneled to upper. Why do I pay 600 euro road tax a year on my 20 year old shit car?
Why does someone buying a brand new EV pay 100 road tax AND get a 3.5k subsidy from the government with my tax money?

People who think it is a supply problem are clueless. The market is rigged. 20,000 in long term default are kicking back and laughing at the hundreds of thousands who are trying to get on the property ladder. Repossessing and selling the properties in default, would unleash enough new property to lower property prices which would give us the gift of higher delinquency rates which would put further downward pressure on house prices and so forth. The government is using the courts and the banks to stop this natural process from happening. A global recession may be just the ticket we need to overwhelm the government`s ability to maintain a rigged housing market.

House inflation is not caused by foreign investors but by the government. I read yesterday of a couple in Meath who had a debt of a couple of million written off by a judge who then let them keep their house. The couple owed 600,000 for the mortgage yet claimed the house would fetch only 200,000 if it was sold. Government policies make it problematic for banks to go ahead and sell any property in arrears because the government use the courts and the laws to prevent that in order to keep houses prohibitively expensive to young Irish people. They want us to emigrate. This is ethnic cleansing.

If they stop paying rent, then they can be evicted. It's no fault eviction.

Capitalism has a flaw, rich use wealth to circumvent controls thus taking from both government and middle class. Uprising is the long-term outcome.
2 ways to get rich, 1 have rich parents or 2 change the system

I have listen to his old podcast, look their good very shocked at him and his business partner who claim remote work cannot be achieved even though his literally sitting at his home doing podcast with guy in UK????. Please for your greed stop trying to make other people come to cooperate office, where you can make money out of others. Reality is 80% percentage of jobs can be done online, eventually with high tech and robots, 95% job can be done from home. Its time people deserve better work life, not live up to the rich people greed who want to use commercial property as rent to big cooperates. Yes meeting in person is very good and fun, that why workvivo will be more liked than in person 5 days 9-5pm crappy abuse employee have to endure. while you live and fly over and enjoy your freedom, don't use power and podcast talking bullshit about how cooperate want graduates and law students to be in person. Yes hybrid is the model (when needed) but remote working can be achieved simple, when your required in the company once or twice a week or month than that fine as well, this why instead of abusing others happiness once could focus on new commercial property strategy flexible enjoyable hybrid model (for companies that really needed twice a week or month thing).

Thank you for your comment but I don’t think you need personal attacks and accusations of greed to make a point. I happen to agree with you in some areas regarding remote work but I happen to have a different point of view when it comes to maintaining a corporate culture of friendship and loyalty. Companies are not evil for the wanting to employ staff and make money, they offer a solution to somebody else’s problem.
