  • How to help an angry child 💗 New Video! 📽
It's easy to become angry ourselves when we see our children kicking out at the world, but there are ways to approach an angry child and support them with love and understanding.
This video shares a lovely experience we had with this and how I was able to help my daughter feel secure and content enough to approach further situations with kindness and compassion.

We covered this in my lifespan and development class. People get mad at kids for things they really can't help due to various physiological reasons. Like my teacher explained it like no sane person would let their child drive a car but they get mad at them for not knowing how delicate a vase is and breaking it

Craig Moye woah that's such a great way of thinking of it! Letting go of super high expectations from children is so important.
Us adults often find it hard to react to situations with kindness and understanding yet we expect our children to be able to.
There's an interesting part inns toddler calm book I read that explained that children don't have the brain development to be able to rationalise fully. It's kind of like being upset at our children for being short.

Exactly, my one friend was a psychiatrist in the army and he said that another reason why kids will go through angry phases is because as they get older their brain needs less neurons to do certain things, like move their arm, read, run etc etc and when they have to make that adjustment they get frustrated. So yesterday it was easy to to pick up a block but now that their brain is using less neurons they are trying to figure out that same task. And this will continue well into early adulthood

Craig Moye gosh that really must be frustrating! It's so helpful the learn about the development of children so we can really understand them and help them through their struggles.

Yes, and another thing is adults tend to forget that things that are not big for us can be very big a child so we should always keep that in mind when they are excited about something or scared of something
