Who else agrees that Jack should do more episodes where he is the only storyteller, not someone else? He has a special way of telling stories and an amazing script-writing skills!
These are some of my favorite episodes for sure. But I do like hearing from red teamers, criminals, and LEOs on occasion, like the Mad Dog episode single handedly got me through work last night.
@@Sahxocnsba You're absolutely right. Some storytellers are talented, but others stutter very much and do a lot of silence between talking, so I get bored. Unlike Jack who is an incredible and talented script writer and storyteller.
The best kind of protection is to get in early and the witness on the stand will be an office Several officers reading off their notes which tell the prosecutions story when the right officer answers the question for the appropriate time. Their work address is used instead of their home address.
Intelligence agencies were idiots for not officially recruiting her. She wouldn't have needed much training and she was demonstrably very talented. I wonder if they saw her as a threat.
I never really gave too much credit to shadow banning before, but I never received notifications or alerts for this episode. I am grateful for your show and have listened to every episode. Thank you!
Unbelievable how the first case and media exposed her. What the heck! Absolutely ridiculous. Probably cost people their lives through attacks that could've been stopped
why are the comments like "glad you are alive and still doing this"? he literally said that he is going to reduce upload frequency this year. all is fine and going according to plan. I'm simply glad to see a new episode once a month.
Shannen was clearly determined to find answers and clever enough to hide her IP and made sock puppet accounts with personas. if she just handed over info she gathered anonymously she would have saved herself trouble.
Also means she would've had to accept that staying anonymous meant she would not be updated or involved in the case, if it was even actioned. She made a choice not to stay anonymous.
I could spot three differences when you changed to the AI clone tool. 1. Inflection: your inflection changed to a more monotone one, i know youre big into using dynamic inflection so when it became more monotone that was a big clue. 2. Unusual pauses: there are still some small gaps in dialog that sounded unusual which clued me in. 3. This is the biggest one but there was a noticable change in sample rate, perhaps it was the app, perhaps the AI needs to downsample to more easily chop all the individual clips together, or maybe the file was just exported with a different compression method or sample rate but that was a very big giveaway that it changed. I Also notice the second phrase had more bass in it, im wondering if that was you adding EQ or if it was different training data using a different microphone.
4:42 âShe wanted justice for those who diedâ. âInnocent people diedâ. Itâs really tragic, but you could also apply those sentences on all the people US Army killed in other countries in meaningless wars. If USA only protects their border and donât start wars all around the world thereâs a much smaller risk that they will be attacked by terrorists. But that would also be catastrophic for the US war industry, that like to kill people abroad when testing their new systems. Money talks and a life is always a lifeâĶ
I remember I was in the principals office about to get in trouble for not doing my homework or something like that and seeing all the adults freaking out and everyoneâs parents coming to check kids out we didnât find out what happened until we got home and was seeing it on the news because unlike every other school who brought TVs in to their classrooms they thought it better to act like nothing was going on. But when I found out I hopped on AOL and immediately started blaming the USSR and a dude on my buddy list was like nah dude that donât exist anymore lol
Yup lol, I used to refuse to do school at home and would wait until I got to school the next day and the teacher couldnât stand it even though it was turned in completed
YIKES! That chilling intro.... I mean. I was just a sophomore in hell school (what the fuck is high school?). Scary shit. You know? I just got my mom into this series yesterday with the episode about ARYA and she finally realizes this channel isn't just another one of my 'otaku kicks'. Now she hears this and, yup.... 'news at a down to earth level.'
What an incredible story! Gripping from start to finish. I cannot wrap my head around how Shannen, American as apple pie, living in fucking Montana, just up and casually learned Arabic and started operating in these clandestine circles with a newly acquired language. The Osama Khasser (idk if spelled right) swindle is insane given it was all communicated in Arabic. Google translate didn't come out until 2006, and you can bet that anything then was nowhere near the quality we take for granted today. She said f*** 9/11, f*** Al-Qaeda, and then became a cyber intelligence savant. Legend
Holy shit, the fact that they got her car from her house WHILE SHE WAS IN THE HOUSE. That's terrifying. You're right tho, she's a fucking hell of a fucking person. Being not only a judge but a mother of three, a wife, and infiltrating Al Qaeda on her own damn near. The fact she didn't let them scare her and get her to back down. It's not just impressive because she's a woman with a husband and kids and a high profile, very ethically binding job, it's incredible because she's a normal person in a country far away and she used the tools to everyone's disposal to do something INCREDIBLE and save what could have been thousands of lives
What i got from this is don't tell anyone and find a way to get someone in trouble for their actions through other means. Because now you saved some military personnel but lost civilians instead.
Itâs unreasonable to believe this story as presented. A computer guys wife infiltrates a terrorist group while having her morning coffee before her day job. Shannens version of this story is completely unbelievable. There is definitely a lot more to this story.
Hi again Jack you like to ask for ideas for Podcasts, I got one for ya. Because I'm getting into Cybersecurity and looking for job. The Indian kitchens seem to concentrate on whose applied to job listing on LinkedIn and never call you back after telling you, you got the job.
LETS GO JACK !!!!!!!!!!!!! We (our higher self) punish ourselves at the end (very rarely) if we are blind to our true arrogance about what matters The obvious symptom is we created the output symbols/belief that spell out hell ANDEN ? we go agen. So we become better. Salute to all the heroes
This is wild. I've hated US foreign policy my whole life. Not onc3 has it ever even crossed my mind to hurt people over it. I cant understand how these people get to that conclusion.
The irony of the fact that we *trained* Al-Qeada. We stopped calling them "freedom fighters" and started calling them "terrorists" overnight because we needed oil. Crazy how that works huh.
This oil thing is quite overstated, yes, oil was definitely part of the invasion, Dick Cheney was the CEO of a company that won an oil contract for the US military in Iraq, but it is not the main reason. The US gets most of its oil from the Western hemisphere, a quick search shows that is always over 50%, closer to 60% on many, of oil from the west. The competing imports are usually in the order of Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Nigeria, then Iraq. Not matter which year you look at, Iraq is not very high on list. On most graphs I have seen, Iraq usually provides around 5% of US oil imports.
â@@ttpechon2535the invasion was mainly because Sadam wanted the change the petro-dollar from us dollars to euros. When a country buys oil they first need to exchange their currency to us dollars this boosts the us dollar. Sadam put that in jeopardy so he had to go.
...and just like that, we had a department of homeland security. Didn't take long for them to aim their sites at our own people. I mean, "why do you care if you have nothing to hide?".....
Oh hallelujah! Thank you for coming back, Jack! My Thursday morning is finally complete again!
