    Wow this was the best video yet. So full of information, I've never tried curtains by overdirecting to the top but that method gives a really cool look. I'll have to watch this back and absorb all that info again, great video 🙌

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Really? That’s great to hear - I struggled my way through this today! I’m please the feedback has been good so far. The over-direction on the top makes the centre panel the shortest point - which gives the curtains more volume through the top and less weight which gives them a more ‘floaty’ look

      Shorts are a difficult one. They get the most reach and help the channel grow. But they make the feed look messy! What is it you don’t like about shorts?

    This is one of my favorite videos, I come back to it a lot. I am always growing but I mainly do fades and tapers. The top and sections always bothered me because I only knew a few things and wanted to truly understand sections and different ways to cut. Thank you for the help.
    One thing I did want to ask though (not a critique) is if in the videos you could explain what the sections do, why we would want to make them, and what sections for when, that would help. I am very grateful though for the video and information I just always wondered about these things more in depth as well!

    Does horizontal graduation (generally) build more weight vertically because the vertical shape is controlled by overdirection and not cutting line (like with vertical graduation)? From what I understand, heavier vertical shapes are easier to create by using overdirection while softer vertical shapes (round layer, square layer, soft graduation) are easier to create by using the cutting line/finger angle. This is what makes horizontal graduation create heavier shapes (vertically), because it's created using overdirection?

    How long did this cut take real time?

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haircuts can vary, a regular haircut (anything above a zero fade) often take 30 minutes, whereas a skinfade typically takes 45 minutes.
      This particular haircut took 45 minutes as it was a scissor cut with skin tapers

    This explanation serves barbers and hairdressers with existing previous knowledge, which is not only basic.
    I understand that such knowledge can not be explained in one short video, but to call this a good explanation is just trolling.

  • @pouyabryant

    Was this a Geometry class or barber tutorial?! With all due respect, you won't have enough time to do all of this hair parting while working in a barbershop and there's a long queue of clients.

    • @Cmcbarber
      @Cmcbarber  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Each to their own mate. I work in a barbershop where we schedule the correct amount of time to do a haircut accurately which is why I have the time to section the hair and be a bit more meticulous.
      If I worked in a walk in barbershop.. I would clipper over comb everything and the scissor work would be minimum! Haha.
