Would be cool if datasmith could import with subdivision (to reduce the amount of harddrive space taken up by subdiv meshes)

Is it possible to do this with skeletal meshes or on the same mesh your working with rather than a duplicate?

sorry, it's currently not possible, and nothing in GeoScript in 5.0 can be applied to skeletal meshes (some support coming in 5.1, but not live-SubD, it is too slow)

@@RyanSchmidtEpic I see. That's unfortunate but thank you for getting back to me!

Hey Ryan - great video! Can you get the original quad mesh from an imported model and then subdivide on that? Seems like a nice way to get more resolution without having heavy geo inside the engine.

Why epick must complicate everything they have perfect solution geometry nodes in Blender, no... they must implement complicate like quantum physics "geometry script", in practice faster will be make and import model from other software

Blender Geometry Nodes are great, but you can't use them at Runtime in the same way, and it is not straightforward to mix them with Blueprints.

Can this method be applied to the skeleton? I want to apply subdivision to skeleton mesh.

Great! Thank you Ryan. WOuld it be possible to implement kind of "Crease by angle" node before SubD?

Omg! I just found the Bevel node that solves my issue! This plugin is fantastic!
