it is very wierd, they mix the prom with the musical, there is the song that looks like a part of the musical, but also they wear different outfits for this scene and for the other one in the end... very confused

I also assumed the prom scene in the musical happened off camera or they cut it off.
HSM3 was pretty confusing to me, it kept jumping from musical to real life and to "singing in real life". High School Musical 3 is a musical cinematic masterpiece. The way the musical numbers are staged, the choreography, the emotional punches. I think most people don't realize *how* big this movie was in 2008. It was a global phenomenon and the third one just launched it from a TV thing into theatres and Zac Efron stayed in theatres for the rest of his career. Yes, it is a silly movie but the technical aspects thanks to the brilliant direction by Kenny Ortega, who worked with Michael Jackson, is honestly breathtaking. I have yet to see a bigger musical number in *any* movie musical since that, that was as big as either "I Want It All" or "A Night To Remember".
i love how everyone says that is just a disney channel cliche, but the thing is that this movie literally invented the classic disney movie cliche romance, and that's actually a merit
Zac Efron didn't sing in the first movie because he didn't know how. He learned for the 2nd and 3rd because he really wanted to actually sing in them, and now it's like his thing 🤷 edit: wth seamus where have you been hiding that angelic voice all this time :')
He actually recorded his voice for the first movie, but they still ended up with Drew Seeley singing (the dude is still singing for Disney Channel as far as I'm aware, he did voice sing for Ben from Descendants.
So a note about the time line. High school basketball typically runs from November to February or March. So there was still plenty to of time left in the school year for all the stuff to happen.
Now that we’ve had that amazing musical number at the end of the video we need an official Seamus Gorman musical, written, directed and performed by Seamus!
That was literally the best thing I have seen in a long time. I was laughing the entire time. I love your videos and they always make my day! Also, your song will be stuck in my head forever now.
You should watch Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, definitely the best movie to come out of this franchise! I will die on that hill, no one can change my mind!!
"i reacted to all the high school musical movies for the first time" is a refreshing change of pace from normal videos of Seamus Gorman. The reaction video wonderfully blends hilarious comedy, excellent critiques, and mixtures of both. Seamus and Vegard play off each other extremely well, and the ending is simply legendary. Ending in a DCOM style musical number was a brilliant idea, though the lack of knowledge on his opinion of 3: Senior Year is quite tragic. 9/10 video.
as someone who grew up watching this franchise, i really appreciate this. i have a lot of nostalgia for hsm 2 specifically cause i saw it when i was like five. it's such a fun summer movie, the songs are bops and the storyline is more realistic compared to the first one. though looking back on it, the conflict in the movie could've been better developed. and troy's friends were acting a bit unreasonable as he can't get everyone scholarships yk
I think the timeline is like this… junior year (grade 11) is hsm 1; then hsm 2 is summer between grade 11 and 12; hsm 3 picks up in senior year (grade 12)
You should try “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure” next! Also, thanks for taking me down nostalgia lane; I was laughing the entire time! Oh! And the reason why HSM3 looks “better” is because it was released in theaters/cinemas.
There were a few DCOMs that had sequels before "High school musical", but not many. "Zenon: Girl of the 21st century" got "Zenon the zequel" and "Halloweentown" got "Halloweentown II: Kalabar's revenge" both in 2001. Also, Hannah Montana had only been on air for a year when HSM2 came out, so Miley Cyrus wasn't too big yet.
ABOUT THE LADDER: in suite life of zack and cody they did a high school musical episode where sharpay has a ladder prop during bop to the top. maybe that's what you were thinking of?
If Sharpay is your favorite character and you want to see some character development for her I recommend watching the spin-off film Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure Also, fun fact, the school they filmed the movies at still have Sharpays lockers! The school also floods a lot
I love your commentary Seamus, BUT, your friend's laugh was the best part of this video. PERIOD. that and him singing along. Felt like I was watching it with a friend
The third movie was actually released in theaters and was a bigger deal than the first two. I remember hearing the boys are back on the radio a week after.
Seamus making fun of the Utah setting in HSM2. Me who lives here “yup…” 😂. My sister and I still sing and quote these movies almost 16 years later. The third movie actually came out when I was about to graduate high school so the feels I had watching this 😂🥲
I swear if you don’t watch Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure adventure after this I’m gonna sue. It’s an actual masterpiece. (Actually it’s probably bad but I haven’t seen it since I was like 8 and I loved it so you need to watch it)
I love how Seamus waves the wand around like how the old school Disney stars waved their wands to make the Mickey logo and failing miserably. 😂 it was a nice nostalgic touch and if you don’t know what I am talking about just look it up.
Your musical review at the end was the only one I've liked compared to any other channel that has done something like that. The sound quality was great, the singing wasn't cringy, and the music really had a fun stage musical feel to it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Fun fact: the milk scene in HSM2 was the inspiration for these lyrics from Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape": "CauseI'vebeenactinglikesourmilkall onthefloor It'syourfaultyoudidn'tshuttherefrigerator Maybethat'sthereasonI'vebeenactingsocold"
Congratulation seamus you made it onto my comfort videos playlist because your comments to these movies are absolute gold LOL I will never be able to watch these movies again without thinking about your comments
The budget (and run-time) for the third HSM film DID skyrocket, but there actually was a reason. HSM3 wasn't exactly a DCOM lol. It was released in film theatres. I literally went to the local Cineplex theatre to see it with my sister sometime during opening week. The first 2 films gained a big enough following with the target pre-teen audience that Disney felt comfortable pumping money into the final film for it to go for box office cash lol.
I will admit your commentary was excelent. One thing though when you mention Troy forgot how to play basketball, its more of the fact he's too distracted with his thoughts to focus on basketball. In movie 2, when Chad and Ryan switch outfits its actually super important because the song right before it, its rumored Chad may also be gay but Ryan knows and is basically telling him not to care what his friends think. There's several lyrics to the song plus they way they film it and who you see is a big hint. Like "There's just one little thing /That stops me every time, yeah" and it pans to Chad's friends. Like they stop him from being himself. So the outfit switch really just shows maybe he's accepted himself to Ryan, but nobody else. In movie 3, this movie was actually played in theaters, its more then just an original movie. The budget and everything was high on this one. Side note: Should watch Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure. Real growth there. Absolutely amazing.
This made me laugh. I've only seen the 3rd film. My nephew was obsessed with the movies. I didn't know that Zach Efron didn't sing in the film. He's sung in other musicals.
Seamus, I’ve been in the same boat, but I haven’t seen it yet, only the musical version of it my school put on 5 years ago Also, ABOUT TIME YOU UPLOADED
I had a high school musical movie marathon with my youth group when I was in year 13. Those films are so nostalgic to me, and hsm3 really hits differently when you're about to graduate high school and go to different universities after 7 years with your friends. I was SOBBING during walk away and everyone laughed at me 😞
Actually way more DCOMs have sequels than you think 😂 Camp Rock 1 and 2, all three HSMs, Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2, all the Halloweentowns, all three Descendants movies, and more

Zac Efron didn't sing in the first movie because he didn't know how. He learned for the 2nd and 3rd because he really wanted to actually sing in them, and now it's like his thing 🤷
edit: wth seamus where have you been hiding that angelic voice all this time :')
He actually recorded his voice for the first movie, but they still ended up with Drew Seeley singing (the dude is still singing for Disney Channel as far as I'm aware, he did voice sing for Ben from Descendants.
@@junjunjamore7735 Oh, that's cool :0 I didn't know he even recorded them.
He didn’t do the first bc he was going through puberty hahahahaha
So a note about the time line. High school basketball typically runs from November to February or March. So there was still plenty to of time left in the school year for all the stuff to happen.
Now that we’ve had that amazing musical number at the end of the video we need an official Seamus Gorman musical, written, directed and performed by Seamus!
Written by Vegard
That was literally the best thing I have seen in a long time. I was laughing the entire time. I love your videos and they always make my day! Also, your song will be stuck in my head forever now.
You should watch Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, definitely the best movie to come out of this franchise! I will die on that hill, no one can change my mind!!
I agree.
.. That he should watch it, but I don't think it's the best.
Agreed
same it was my fave movie as a kid
You're 120% right
Nah the songs are terrible and the acting is worse. And don't even make me start on the plot.
The second one is definitely the best one!
Legends say Seamus is climbing these stairs to this day
I think the timeline is like this… junior year (grade 11) is hsm 1; then hsm 2 is summer between grade 11 and 12; hsm 3 picks up in senior year (grade 12)
Toy Story stan steps out of comfort zone **SHOCKING** **YOU MIGHT CRY**
i might change the title because of you
ABOUT THE LADDER:
in suite life of zack and cody they did a high school musical episode where sharpay has a ladder prop during bop to the top. maybe that's what you were thinking of?
Seamus: No other Disney channel original has a sequel right?
Camp Rock: Am I a joke to you?
Alternate title: Seamus not knowing U.S. high school sports culture
If Sharpay is your favorite character and you want to see some character development for her I recommend watching the spin-off film Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure
Also, fun fact, the school they filmed the movies at still have Sharpays lockers! The school also floods a lot
Thank you for the singing in the end, that's what we call commitment to a cause; one of the reasons why you're one of my favourite TH-camrs ❤️
I deeply relate to Vegard, I'm glad he was there to represent me and say what I wanted to say every time, thank you, Vegard
“Chad and Ryan switched clothes!”
Seamus: That doesn’t change my life.
Everyone else: *gasp*
Thank you Seamus for breaking out into song! You foreshadowed it perfectly, and you lived the dream of living in a musical. You rock!
Love how Vegard knows everything. True Disney Channel queen
I love your commentary Seamus, BUT, your friend's laugh was the best part of this video. PERIOD. that and him singing along. Felt like I was watching it with a friend
The closing musical number was the best thing ever
The third movie was actually released in theaters and was a bigger deal than the first two. I remember hearing the boys are back on the radio a week after.
Starting a petition for him to do Twilight 😂
ON MY LIST
The fact that I live in Albuquerque and you called it fake was hilarious 😂
The high school musical movies are so iconic, like it went from being a Disney Channel original movie to being in the MOVIE THEATERS!
The hat is a step forward seamus!!! She's wearing hats like ryan!! Its cuuuuuuuuuuute
Fun Fact: HSM 3 was actually released in Theaters, so it wasn’t a DCOM
High School Musical 3 wasn't a DCOM. It was released in theatres
(Actually it’s probably bad but I haven’t seen it since I was like 8 and I loved it so you need to watch it)
this was actually super fun to watch
I love how Seamus waves the wand around like how the old school Disney stars waved their wands to make the Mickey logo and failing miserably. 😂 it was a nice nostalgic touch and if you don’t know what I am talking about just look it up.
Of course my man did it, keep up the amazing content man
Your musical review at the end was the only one I've liked compared to any other channel that has done something like that. The sound quality was great, the singing wasn't cringy, and the music really had a fun stage musical feel to it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
6:00 “I love that the message of this film is, “You can do more than one thing.”
I never thought of it that way but that’s hilarious 🤣
It’s sad that the best thing about High School Musical 2 is that it helped make Phineas And Ferb popular.
i know i’m 2 months late replying to this but i just want to know how it helped make phineas and ferb popular?
I would like to know that too :O
@@burnoverme the first episode of phineas and ferb premiered alongside hsm2
20:32 oh but bestie, HSM3 had a *theatrical* release. If you were looking for groundbreaking, that was it
This was so fun!! I love you and Vegard bantering! MORE PLS
IMPROVING THAT TITLE:
i watched high school musical for the first time(feat. vegard's knee)
That song came so out of the blue I legit didn't expect it and I need more of it. Genuinely a good video man, keep creating cool stuff ❤️
loved that musical number in the end 10/10
As an American I can say that when you do your musical at the end of senior year, you graduate if isn’t good you stay back.
Fun fact: the milk scene in HSM2 was the inspiration for these lyrics from Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape":
"CauseI'vebeenactinglikesourmilkall
onthefloor
It'syourfaultyoudidn'tshuttherefrigerator
Maybethat'sthereasonI'vebeenactingsocold"
Another epic instalment in the “watch Seamus watch films” series
12:38 I never noticed that they just left the milk right there. Now that I know, it bothers me to no end
Congratulation seamus you made it onto my comfort videos playlist because your comments to these movies are absolute gold LOL I will never be able to watch these movies again without thinking about your comments
How does a promise to sing with someone sometime automatically equal a promise to sing a duet with someone in the upcoming talent show?
I'm petitioning that this series needs to be watched & examine by film schools in order for the students to graduate 🎓
Like "There's just one little thing
/That stops me every time, yeah" and it pans to Chad's friends.
I was in highschool when the third one came out in cinemas, thanks for making me feel old. Yay.
This video made me so incredibly happy, especially that ending. Seamus never disappoints.
This made me laugh. I've only seen the 3rd film. My nephew was obsessed with the movies. I didn't know that Zach Efron didn't sing in the film. He's sung in other musicals.
I think he only didn’t sing in the first movie himself. Not sure whether that’s true, I just heard it somewhereXD
He sang in the second and third movies, but not in the first one! :)
@@serenaisproblem What happened here?
@@malthewriterwizard oh my goodness, i have no idea how that happened 😂
OMG I didn't know this was the video I've been waiting for
Seamus, I’ve been in the same boat, but I haven’t seen it yet, only the musical version of it my school put on 5 years ago
Also, ABOUT TIME YOU UPLOADED
I had a high school musical movie marathon with my youth group when I was in year 13. Those films are so nostalgic to me, and hsm3 really hits differently when you're about to graduate high school and go to different universities after 7 years with your friends. I was SOBBING during walk away and everyone laughed at me 😞
Actually way more DCOMs have sequels than you think 😂
Camp Rock 1 and 2, all three HSMs, Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2, all the Halloweentowns, all three Descendants movies, and more
Twitches!
Zenon
And now the Z-O-M-B-I-E-S trilogy.
So I grew up LOVING these movies. My senior quote was actually related to how high school is actually way more about crying than it is singing 😂😂
wdym first time
Hi, Caitlin!
caitlin please i apologised 😭
@@SeamusGorman4 ….descendants next?
