१) ओवरचार्जिंग बैटरी - रात को चार्जिंग के छोड़ देना. बैटरी ४ घंटेमे पूरी चार्ज हो जाती है , पर उसके बादभी चार्जर ओवर चार्जिंग करता है. तो ग्रीन लाइट आनेके बाद चार्जर स्विच ऑफ करे
२) डीप डिस्चार्ज स्टेज - आप साइकिल 1-2 महीने तक यूज़ नहीं करते हो, तभी भी आपको बैटरी को चार्जिंग / डिस्चार्जिंग साइकिल देना, आप ऐसा नहीं करते हो, तो संभावना है की बैटरी डीप डिस्चार्ज स्टेज मैं चली जाये, जिसके बाद उसका लाइफ एकदम काम हो जाता है. Sometimes even it can not recover & gets damaged.

- do not pressure wash the controller or battery tube, if water enters then unit will get damaged (mine got damaged in normal Pune rains)

Very clearly explained, and very good video. One point which remains unconsidered is the carrying capacity and speed of the two bikes. On activa you can travel with your wife or friend and a little child, at a good speed - which saves your time and also increases you comfort level during the journey.
Well going solo, and that too for going to office only it is good. So both the bikes are complementary to each other, not the substitute. For good economy and comfort, you must have both of them.

I liked your electric bicycle and its detail, simple demo with proper cost and comparison analysis. The prospecive customers, before purchase, will definitely get thorough knowledge of this product.
The manufacturer Hero Co., too will get insight of the drawbacks for design improvement, like the necessity of a lock switch to avoid forward motion, if the bicycle is parked.
May I also suggest that
1. it should also have an indicator for battery replacement sign after 1or 2 or 3years.
2. there is a scope for R&D to design similar bicycle in foldable version.
3. Does Bajaj have any plans to enter in this segment as a competitor?

Very simple and detailed review. I am also using a Hero Lectro cycle, a higher model called Townmaster. It has some additional features but the electronics is exactly the same. After almost one year of usage I must day this e-cycle is a beautiful piece of engineering.
The only problem I have faced as highlighted in the review is parking the bike in a public spade. It attracts a lot of attention and kids / people just start fiddling with the cycle. Some form of ignition key should be incorporated by Hero.
Other than this, this cycle is a pure pleasure.

I suppose it's now solved with rfid keys with c8i in addition to silicon cover. You may get the silicon cover from dealer.
for me i agree that the only good thing about this cycle is its looks rest it is a crap. bad design. you liked this because you did not ride any other e cycle!

Great informative video. I don't know why would people dislike this video. My only grudge with the hero E-bike was that it did not have a removable battery even as an option. Also how does the cycle perform on bumpy roads? Would love to know your views on the same.
Bumpy roads - performance on bumpy roads not good since this base model donot have front suspension. I have used cycle with front suspension prior to this one and feel that considering our road conditions, you should buy cycle with front suspension only.

1) On flat city roads, 10km bicycle riding is not a big thing. (if trafic rule allows)
2) My country cycle costs me Rs. 1000 per 2/3 years. Another option is, i can get puncture fixed every now and then for Rs. 10 every time. As my father's one is country cycle, break wire is been intact for last 45 years. And then i gifted it to somebody.
3) my cycle price was Rs. 3800. 3 years back.
4) electric bicycles are all semi sport type design. These are for stunt, not regular use.
5) sporty or semi sporty designs are most uncomfortable. It is designed for quick burst of performances; then it is scrap. Not worth for regular commute.
6) if someday e cycle give me 100km range with 50kmph speed with battery only, and priced bellow 30k, then i can give it a try. Also its life sud b atleast 20 years with same battery.
7) last is, i never heard tht regular bicycles are polution making! E cycles are.

For me, I am founder of Cycle club in my company and encouraged around 400 people to use cycle to office. In that duration main problem faced by majority of the people was sweating, and inside company there is no shower facility! Here electric cycle helps since battery power can be used on climbs on bridges and last steep slope in company. So you don't sweat that much.
So what I meant to say is Every coin has two sides, there is no single solution which is perfect for all conditions 😊

Suppose I want a cycle mainly for exercise and need the electric assist only on steep climbs and when tired... Is it a good alternative to a 7 gear cycle from decathlon? Actually does it have gears? If not how do you maintain higher speeds?

There is also option of Electric cycle with gears, so you can choose it.
Also battery power can be used only when needed so it's surely good alternative to normal geared cycle
I think getting a geared cycle is better than buying electric cycle for your purpose. Shifting to right gear makes climbing steep incline very easy and gives good exercise.
why you are buying lectro it is over priced, buy other cycle within 25-30k range thats giving more value for money. hero will failed soon

Waise prices have also increased of all bikes. Today's price is 25000 rs. For cheapest model. But petrol vehicles have also become costlier. Petrol is almost 100 rs. Per litre too. So e bikes are even more effective economically as well as environmentally. I am considering to buy one too and ditch my petrol bike.
One more question sir: does ebike also require registration and insurance? If yes, what are the charges?
E-bike having max speed of 25 kmph do not require any RTO registration and number plate.
E-bike having max speed exceeding 25 kmph need RTO registration and number plate

There are few things need to be considered, one Speed of the cycle. I don't think it can go more than 15 to 20 km/hr. I have experience of riding yulu electric bike (Miracle).
In metropolitan cities like Bengaluru, it is highly difficult to take it to main roads or in busy traffic.
Second : comfort, will not get the comfort which we get from an actual two wheeler.
Horn: with Cycle bell, it is hell to ride in cities.
two people can sit on a two wheeler, but cycle is only one.
the Plusher you get from riding a two wheeler , is completely a different one.
No one is talking about replacement battery cost. it almost cost 40 to 45% of the cycle/any electric vehicle.
So I believe, electric cycle may not be the right choice, if one really want to go for electric look for proper electric two wheeler. which might cost 1 to 1.3 lack.
1) I generally achieve 20-25 kmph using accelerator of this electric cycle, speed measured on Starva
2) I am using it for going to office and it helps me moving fast since morning office time the signals are jam, where cycle allows me to skip through small gaps easily
3) On demand from my viewers I have also reviewed electric scooter and its cost details as compared to petrol activa. You may like to see them as you get time. The lowest version with Li-ion batteries cost @55K in Maharashtra with range of about 55-60 kms. I also interviewed a person using such scooter since a year riding about 50 kms each day on electric scooter, please see the interview in my video
4) Replacement of battery cost is taken into account while calculating in my table in video. For this cycle it is about 6,500 Rs as per hero dealer

For bike or car also theft do happen, but we take insurance for that, so as you can take theft insurance for your cycle
In my case I took full theft insurance for the first year, but did not renew it in second year.
I take care to lock it to railing or poll

A common. Man is unable to explain u, what exactly he wants. Try to be best at most win win price. Most 2 tier 3 tier cities want to use simple easy to use ,affordable, durable cycles.
