Thanks "Papa Malcolm"! My Two year old son Joey Jr. and Three year old daughter Olivia sit on either knee and eagerly listen to your wonderful readings. They know when Daddy announces "Papa Malcolm!" it's time for another world! Many thanks from the Lama family in Illinois.

I so appreciate you Malcolm. Few peoples would sacrifice any eye for wisdom, knowledge, poetry. Words are so very important to us. I remember when I was at Berkeley, students in the Scandinavian Department struggled to become fluent in Danish, so they could read Hans Christian Andersen in the original. Vikings, and in particular, Danish Vikings are/were a terrifying lot. The Mongols never dared set foot in Denmark. I’m proud of my heritage, but also a bit ashamed. Γνῶθι σαυτόν. This book (Beowulf), is one of my favorites, as it captures a singular moment in our history; the moment we sheathed our blades, upon fathoming these words - Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Where all others failed, this truth prevailed. Bless you sir.

I like this. (Some say Beowulf lived in an ancient hillfort in our village on our island in the Baltic Sea...who knows, that might be so...some get angry and say he absolutely did not live there, some people say the aesir Tor has his grave in that same hillfort. That we for certain know is not true as we see and hear Tor as well as Tann-gnjost and Tanngrisne several time every year ...

Hello Malcolm i would like to here ur take of the wind in the willows by Kenneth The Mole had been working very hard all the morning, spring- cleaning his little home. First with brooms, then with dusters; then on ladders and steps and chairs, with a brush and a pail of whitewash; till he had dust in his throat and eyes, and splashes of whitewash all over his black fur, and an aching back and weary arms. Spring was moving in the air above and in the earth below and around him, penetrating even his dark and lowly little house with its spirit of divine discontent and longing. Being its almost spring forward

Hey there sir sorry to be that guy per say but I just wanted to clear a misconception up with this story
The inspiration came from old norse tails
In Germanic heroic legend and folklore, Fáfnir is a worm or dragon slain by a member of the Völsung family, typically Sigurð. In Nordic mythology, he is the son of Hreiðmarr, and brother of Regin and Ótr and is attested throughout the Völsung Cycle, where, Fáfnir slays his father out of greed, taking the ring and hoard of the dwarf Andvari and becoming a worm or dragon. Fáfnir's brother Regin later assisted Sigurð in obtaining the sword Gram, by which Fáfnir is killed. He has been identified with an unnamed dragon killed by a Völsung in other Germanic works including Beowulf, the Nibelunglied and a number of skaldic poems. Fáfnir and his killing by Sigurð are further represented in numerous medieval carvings from the British Isles and Scandinavia, and a single axe head in a Scandinavian style found in Russia. The story of Fáfnir has continued to have influence in the modern period, such as in the works of J.R.R Tolkien, who drew inspiration from the tale of Fáfnir in his portrayals of Smaug and Gollum.
Bewolf still is a great story too and I'm thankful to our ancestors for preserving such so we may enjoy them even today many years on
