I’ve got a BT II and, yes, it’s a cracking amp. I can confirm that the Bluetooth codec does support Aptx HD. It has to be forced, but it does work, and the sound quality improves considerably.
I have the three matched components at home - CDII, Ampster II and Tuner II and Tangent X4 Speakers plus the older AS-160 subwoofer. My lounge isn't huge but this system sounds amazing in there. Main playback source is Daphile for mp3 + FLAC plus online radio, Deezer, etc, all running on a NUC with Topping D10 DAC. Audiophile quality for less than £500!
Hi, I saw the Ampster BT2 for the first time in your video. The SMSL SA300 was not available due to Corona, but I found the Ampster BT2 at a dealer. Ordered immediately because all other dealers were sold out. Hey that was great advice! Had the Sabaj A3 before and that's no comparison. Much more pressure, precision and dynamic. Really great and worth the money. It works with Canton Plus XL and an ASF 75 subwoofer. A great sound experience for my home office! Thanks for your video and your great advice. Excuse my english. It's not my language ...
I have one of these for my desktop PC and it's excellent. Not just "excellent for the money", either. If you heard this and someone asked you how much you thought it cost, you would guess a *lot* more than £150.
Great review! Is there anything else you know of similar to this which has more inputs and bit more power? I found a Yamaha 202D but it does not have binding posts otherwise that would have been the one for me. Thanks in advance
Bought one after watching this video and couldnt be happier, paired with Wharfdale 12.1 speakers it sounds amazing. Using the BT function Ive streamed music from my PC and phone and even hooked it up to Alexa to stream radio stations and it all sounds great. My one niggle is it cant handle multiple BT connection so each device has to be disconnected before hooking up another. Just rewatched the video and thanks for telling me what the IR extender was, I couldnt work that out!!! Not that I need it as it looks cool so I wouldnt want to hide it.
Nice how you getting on with the 12.1 I have the 11.1 in the lounge and was never fully sold on them compared to my older diamonds. But the Mrs wanted the newer ones on show Vs my scuffed 9.1s. glad th video helped it's great little amp and they let me keep it in the end 😊
@@thefullsetup glad to hear they let you keep the ampster, as someone who bought one off the back of your video I think you deserved it. I like the 12.1's very much but i did um and arh about what to buy for a while, but I had the 12's on my shortlist and then saw a pair on an ebay auction that were only 4 months old and won them for £132 so whats not to like. Still a shame our favorite hifi store is not open for browsing or I would have compared a few first but after buying the amp I couldnt wait for lockdown to end...
Hey! Would you still recommend this amp today? Any alternatives in the same price range instead? I don't particularly need Bluetooth, I'm thinking of getting something second hand instead from eBay, but with older models I'm worried about a hiss/crackle etc. Speakers- Dynaudio emit M10. Thanks!
@@thefullsetup problem with that is you can not wake the amp with optical. And also this amp is useless for pc as it goes to sleep in 15 min of no sound so you have to keep the amp awake by sending sound all the time. Just silly and striped not to be able to turn it off
I bought this amp and had to take it back as it has a silly feature that you can not change or disable it’s the standby in 15 min Option. As on a pc your not using sound all the time and means it’s useless for pc media users. Shame as it was a cracking amp but let down by a silly feature. And before you say you can use the phono to wake the amp you can do that but the problem is anything that sends sound for a sec like a notification you missed it. And then the amp will turn off again also I want to use the built in dac of the amp not the pc which you can only do with the optical. It’s a bad feature. The manufacture could of added a 4 option like 30mi. 1 hour 2 hour or off that would of not been hard to do. Had to go for another amp which cost more just because of this and lost me as a customer. Silly silly feature.
I have this with Magnat quantum 503. When we moved pur new place for tv set is not good for speakers. All bass is gone and i feel s i should sell them all.

mir gehts genau so. mein Sabaj A3 macht nicht ganz genug Druck, denk ich geh auch auf Ampster.
Found this vid looking for an SMSL SA300 review and glad I watched! Thanks for showing this off
Well I'm glad it helped it's a lovely little amp
Gran Review. consulta ¿Tangent Ampster BT II o Arylic A50+ ?

I own Ampster II 2 years, connected to PC via DAC. It has very handful signal autodedect at Line-In input.
Yo is it possible to connect this thing to an audio interface? I'm not seeing any output ports.
Actually this really just swayed me more to AD18 or SA300/Topping combo.
What is the name of the monitor stand? The one I can find at Ikea is not the same :(

Speakers- Dynaudio emit M10.
Thanks!
Mine is stuck on standby and won’t actually choose an option (e.g BT, aux or anything). Do you know why?
And mine after 2 months. I have asked for a refund.
How are you connecting it to your PC? I notice the USB port says "usb charge", so I assume its not a USB DAC? So this requires an external DAC for PC?
I'm running an optical cable from my pc so its bypassing my pcs dac.
Hi! do you know how to equalize? I read the manual, but when I try to increase the bass by holding the stop button, it just makes the track stop...
use the remote it works much better and just hold down the one that says bass
I got the matching cd player, loved it. Didn't do gapless. Deal-breaker 😟
could you recommend bookshelves speakers to match this amplifier? I would connect it to the TV
work with airplay iphone without installing app?
Hello. How do you connect it to a pc? i saw only a usb charging port. thanks
Connect it via optical cable.

not an SA300 killer, but not a bad amp.
I got SA300 and its great for daily PC using. Its actually amazing :)
Not available in North America.
EFLC has them
Does the amp have Bluetooth output as well so you could connect your wireless headphones?
No just Bluetooth input
Loxjie A30 as variant.

I always think of booty when I've got my tangent in my hand....and I'm not even gonna go to me bananas 🙄

This is only a generic China amplifier sold under different names. In Norway it is sold under the name Andersson for half the asking prize of Tagent.
That is often the case. People like to pay fora brand. Like Apple or Mercedes Benz
Andersson har ikke USB da. Har du testet Andersson sin? Bra? Lurte litt på den som alternativ, men ser at Tangent nå har nesten samme pris.
No headphone section right?
No sadly not if it had one it would be the desktop amp DAC king.
MX Free 😂
my ears bleed !
