  • I recently sewed up McCalls 8339 (M8339) for Valentines Day next week. I made View B and it all came together rather quickly. I used a white Ponte Knit that I had in my stash for the fabric. I have some thoughts on this pattern! Thanks for watching!

I just bought this pattern during the latest sale for my Spring makes. I have a really good knit in my stash that would be wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

I’m making this dress and struggling with the facing neckline line. Came here to see if you had a suggestion for it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi! I made this back in December (haven’t posted yet), and I also made the woven one back in the Summer and was my favorite Summer dress! I sewed the facing on this one against my first mind and it’s a problem. It keeps slipping out. It happens with all my knit facings. I thought it was just me. Your dress is fabulous!

I can't wait to see your version! I stopped making knit facings with my makes because mine also kept slipping out. I feel your pain sis. Ever since I started doing twin needle finishes, my knit dress necklines lay so much better.

I made this one too and had a time with the facing! I ended up removing it and folding under the neckline. Overall, I really like it. Yours looks great!

Inspired to make this after how amazing it looks on you! What did you do instead of using the facing? Did you just fold the neckline? Did you use bias tape? Trying to figure out what to do 😅 can’t wait to make this!

Thanks! And yes, I folded the neckline with a twin needle finish

Great advice going down in size on knit patterns . Question? I have a pattern for a woven top.
Can I just add ease into the pattern by going up a size or 2 if I want to use knit fabric? .
I am a new subscriber and just love your makes and advice!

Hi Dorothy! Thanks for subscribing. If you're using a woven pattern and you're going to use it for a knit - I highly recommend sizing down a size or 2.

With you on the facing. Cut it out and didn’t even attempt to use it.
