WOW, what a GREAT MAN! Thanks Sir for your service Sir. John P.
Outstanding! Every American should know this story, and remember this truly heroic man.
I am an Air Force veteran myself, now 60 years old as I think back on my service in the early 1980s. One overwhelming thought comes to mind. I worked many jobs in construction and worked currently as an athletic grounds maintenance supervisor. After a lifetime working many jobs, I've never worked with the same level of professionalism I witnessed in the Air Force. To this day, I still remember the total professionalism and character of the fighter pilots I delivered to on the flightline. The professionalism in my career field (munitions maintenance) is unmatched to this day! I'm sure this man displayed unmatched professionalism! GRHS!
As an Air Force vet myself, I agree completely.
I was born about 10 miles northwest of Lima Site 85 (Phu Phathi). My father served on this site as a platoon leader protecting this site from 1967-March 10, 1968. On Arpil 28, 2024, my wife and I visited Phu Phathi. The area where the U.S Air Force installed its installation is a very small area. Most of the structures are gone, except the metal based are still in place. What an incredible place to install a radar. RIP for the service men (both Hmong soldiers and American personnel).
Thank you for sharing your story. I appreciate hearing these!
Rolling Thunder, and Sky Spot. B-52 bombing directed by Sky Spot controllers . I served at On Radar Bombing sites. Under the control of CEG.
Thank you for your service!
Truly had the heart and soul of a warrior.
Quite the story. Kudos to this man
Effing politicians, he could have easily received The Medal by omitting the location of occurrence.
Air Force needs to do a better job of promoting their heroes, other services do it with regularity!
Photo looks like could be NKP.
Apparently N Vietnam didn’t abide by the treaty when it came to being in Laos
