It is legit remarkable how much of a nothing-machine it's been so far. Same for Xbox Series X. The shortages really killed both consoles before they could get off the ground, since no game company would commit to making a fully next gen due to the limited audience.

The rate at which graphics can improve is slowing down and there isn't much the ps5 can do that ps4 can't, which is why every ps5 game worth playing is on PS4. If they had waited a few more years before releasing the consoles they could have iterated in bigger ways and made the ps5 worth getting. Instead they've created an environment where you can skip a console generation without missing many games.
