I remember them doing the same in "Hype Boy" with Minji and her love interest, I love how NWJNS actually cares for diversity in the kpop industry at times. ! Also, it seems that “Cool With You” portrays the Roman/Greek mythological love story of “Cupid and Psyche” but instead of Cupid being a "he" they made him a "she" (played by Hoyeon). Cupid and Psyche is a story found in an ancient Roman novel called "Metamorphoses" by Apuleius (he was a Roman citizen and a latin-language writer). His most widely known work is his Latin based novel “Metamorphoses.” However, even though Apuleius wrote the story, I read that this same story can be found in many ancient Greek works of art, indicating that the story was FIRST told in Ancient Greece rather than Ancient Rome. I don't know I am not a historical researcher lol but anyways... the main takeaway from the story of Cupid (also known as Eros, a Greek name for Cupid) and Psyche is that Cupid (a god) fell in love with a mortal who he found to be the most beautiful woman ever. Not to mention, Psyche's beauty even rivaled with Cupid’s mother, Aphrodite’s beauty. The whole story is actually really good if you ever decide to look into it and does have a happy ending! Moreover, the MV depicted some of this story along with some CHANGES and twists. Furthermore, you can see when Hoyeon looked at people and made them fall in love (2:30), you saw that she indeed was Cupid. Also, the painting all of them were looking at symbolizes the story of “Cupid and Psyche” which is an oil painting by François-Édouard Picot (3:58). It depicts the part of the tale when Cupid would leave Psyche’s bed-side before she woke up every morning as he would only visit her at night. That is also the same scene we saw Hoyeon in at (5:50). Now, at the end of Side A, Hoyeon (Cupid) goes outside naked looking up into the night sky assuringly asking to be granted her wish as a mortal that way she could live her life with Psyche as a mortal. Fast forward, in the b-side they are together until mystery man, Tony Leung (who appears to be Aphrodite/Venus) in the end. He turns Cupid (Hoyeon) back into Cupid again and making Psyche forget all the time they had shared together which is why he walks past her in the street and smiles at another woman. NWJNS MV has more of a darker turn than the original story which I like because they decided to still take their own route of things. But just know, Cupid actually DOES end up with Psyche in the very tale's end.

(when she looks at the mirror, she has no reflection). at the end of side a, where she takes her clothing off in the rain and looks up at sky, it symbolizes her asking to become human, her own way of striking herself with cupid's arrow. side b picks off where side a ends, she is now human and we can see that because yes her clothes are different, and people can now see her- micol can see her. they start falling in love throughout side b. at the end, tony (venus/ aphrodite) takes revenge by making hoyeon into a cupid again- thus nullifying her human status meaning micol can't see her and he forgets about the time they shared. ultimately, tony made him fall in love with someone else (that girl on the street) because she disobeyed her job as cupid its such a heartbreakingly beautiful music video, with a deep meaning and a retelling of mythology. everyone wants love and deserves love, whether they are human or otherworldly deity/being❤
