    Will the Lowrance color shading work on this card like it does with the CMap that is installed on my unit ?

    can you down load both satellite and relief shading ?
    mine is downloading right now says 171 minuets left.
    but it only let me choose one of the two.
    my question is, once it gets done downloading can i go back and download the relif shading ?
    side note - i did select a big salt water area and i probably shouldn't have. its probably the lack of data space that did not let me download both
    do you know anything about this

    Each unit needs its own card ? Is depth shading (coloring by depth) still available with the Navionics + like the built in Lowrance map ?

    Can I use the relief shading and see the level of detail re: rocks ledges on my solix? Is it hard to install if so?

    Will it use the Lowrance .sls sonar files (ie is it compatible) to update the maps?

    Is the Platinum+ backwards compatible with Helix 10 Gen2? I know many features will not work on this unit, but am considering upgrading to Gen4 or the latest Solix unit and don't want to get Naviionics+ then have to buy the Platinum+ when I do upgrade. Thanks

    I just renewed my subscription and it removed all my Shading Overlay for every lake I frequent. I just spent hours reloading all the Shading Overlay I had before. Navionics support said yes that is an issue. Seems like a very big product issue. So every year when my subscription automatically renews and I update card I will have to redo all my Overlays for all the lakes I frequent. And I can have only one overlay per area chosen. Another big issue. Once you spend all that time building in your overlays probably a good idea to not renew subscription on that card. I have a West card and built overlays for every lake I could ever frequent and I'll probably never renew this card. You have any thoughts on this issue?

    I would to find out why you would only choose 1 lake in your download. Is it because the detail is greater for the lake chosen or because of the download time? In other words are the mapping details affected by the amount of the available region is used? Thanks

    • @SonarFishing
      @SonarFishing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would just pick one lake if I was just visiting a single lake in another state. No use downloading a whole region if I only have one tournament in it. However, for my home region, I will download a larger area that covers all the lakes I could possibly fish in my area. You definitely don’t want to max out the memory on the card, so I download sparingly in regions Im not fishing alot in.

    Great video...new to this tech....I could sure use your help...Have a hummingbird Helix 10 MSI linked to an Ulterra w/ Pilot Link...fish mainly crappie/bass/striper in small lakes up to Buggs Island sized...would you go with Navionics or Lakemaster...I love the look/practicality of the relief shading but not sure Lakemaster has it?

    • @SonarFishing
      @SonarFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Obviously my first inclination is to suggest going with Navionics, though it all depends on what kind of coverage there is for your area. That being said, I think the mapping for Buggs Island is pretty strong with the Navionics mapping, and it does have the relief shading option.

      @@SonarFishing Does Navionics post a list of lakes that have Relief Shading? I haven't found it yet. It seems like a no-brainer for Navionics to publish that list. Otherwise I'd be purchasing a Card that might have charts for 100 lakes but only 2 have relief shading. That would be unacceptable. If you're sponsored by Navionics it would be great for you to provide detailed information on what lakes covered on each Regional Chip have relief shading.

    • @SonarFishing

      No, you have to upload the layers online which require an active subscription.

    Is relief shading available for all lakes or just some? I have tried to download for both Truman lake and Lake of the Ozarks at the same time. For LOZ it appears for Truman it doesn’t.

    How many lakes/river sections can you download on a platinum plus card before it’s full? I fish tournaments all over the country just like you and cover an immense amount of water I’d like to be able to utilize relief shading everywhere I go

    • @SonarFishing
      @SonarFishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wish I knew a precise answer to this question, but unfortunately it depends on a lot of factors. I really never filled up a card as long as I only chose the fisheries I was fishing instead of just blanket downloading for regions.

    Can I call a real person and talk to them about my new platinum+ card that is supposed to show relief shading. I put it into my New Helix Humminbird and NO change - same as my last card. Do I need to activate relief shading when the card is hooked to my computer or all the features already loaded on the card? If so, then does anyone know what buttons I push on the Humminbird to activate the Navionics Platinum+ features? Thanks inn advance

    Is Navionics better at Dale Hollow than the integrated CMAP in the HDS Live units? That’s my home lake that I fish the most and looking at upgrading electronics. My old Gen 3 units have Insight so have no experience with either CMAP or Navionics.

    • @SonarFishing
      @SonarFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, I’ve never used CMAP for Dale Hollow. However, I can say that my Navionics mapping is great on Dale Hollow.

    Navionics sucks… horrible platform, no one should have to pay $150 for a card just to take it home and I have to do all this work to even try to get it ready to fish. That’s if you don’t have to spend a few hundred dollars extra on a computer that will even run the software you need to run the card.

  • @hobieanstey
