gee i do wish i had seen this before working it out the hard way that seems to be how the dog was trained. Was always just constantly tripping over her head. Told to push her away with my knee - you can imagine how unuseful that instruction was.

Always nice to have already have figured something out then have an expert reinforce. However, my dog interprets the reward as a release.
