God has blessed him to live and see 81 years, and he's doing what he loves to do. After losing two sons, and an ex-wife, performing is what keeps him sane and motivated, after all that he's been through. A lot of young people in their 30s, 40s and 50s has passed away, who've didn't live to see 81 years. So therefore, it's truly a blessing to live and be 81+ years old. Eddie Levert will be performing until God calls him home.

I agree. But his wife should have told him to button his shirt. Eddie has paid his dues and is still doing what he love doing. Listening to a lot of seasoned singers, you just can't give it up, it's woven into your soul!

The greatest trio of all time... The Mighty O'jays!!! Blessing to Eddie Levert... I must say it's the first time I've seen Mr. Levert struggle with the mic. You have raised us with your art of song. My parents would play the O'jays when I was a child and I've never looked back. Thank you Sir and Mr. Walter Williams. My. Guys.... 🖤🙏🏾💪🏿

You just cannot stop like that. It took years to perform the way he did/does. Sitting around without a reason to live or something to look forward to is very depressing. This is what keeps him going. Especially, after losing both sons and his ex-wife , all he has left of his life is his name, Eddie Levert and the Ojays. Those photos made during this performance are memories of one of the greatest groups during the 70s.

A strong king with mostly great fans, for the ones that understand why performing means everything to Eddie Levert after so many incredible losses. I am old enough to remember the heyday of the O'Jays. I loved them then and I love Mr. Levert now. Keep living through and by your music for as long as you can sir, your real fans love you!!!!

He might just be having a struggling night just as young singers do. He didn't sound like Himself in his 30s and 40s, but for those of you who dot perform in bed the way you did 30 years ago, have you stopped yet? Im not trying to be ugly, but she women use additives just as men use pills because they dont want to stop. You can't blame this man for desiring to keep singing. Im sure that if he is well rested with an occasional show, he would kill it. Im still a big fan and he sounds fine for a man his age. Keep singing Mr. Levert Still a fan of you and your sons. Bless u sir!!!!!

Mr. Levert is obviously getting older. He's outlived two of his boys (ie. sons).
Some of you need to keep the harsh critiques to yourselves. As a life-long avocational musician... I can tell you that you might thoroughly enjoy the work of your favorite music artistes, but in many ways the music & performing is therapeutic for us musicians, vocalists, & music artistes.

I am not saying ths to be rude don't hate on ths absolutely fantastic man if he decides to lay dwn roll sit he has earned that right a true legend and his own. He will give it up when he feels the need to, no his voice is not as strong as it use to be it's still there sounds darn good to me, some of you young bucks are buying Viagra why bc you need a little help so are you going to give it up retire I think not so let Mr Levert do wht he do again I say if they decide to give us another year they can, jst give them their Crown bc our now older groups that are blessed to still be here and can still perform lets give them their Crown and say job well Done.😍😍😍

I love Mr. Eddie Levert, and he brought us so many hits with the Ojay's, but this is very sad to see. Most times when legends are still trying to perform at his age it's out of desperation for money. I'm not hating on U. Again, much love and respect. Let it go playa. No one could ever say anything bad about. I guess we gotta do what we gotta do. Smh.

Eddie will be 82 on Father’s Day (less than 2 weeks). This man is a legend and his life story needs to be told.

  • @Rockzilla404

We never know what motivates people. In Eddie's case maybe being on the road takes his mind off of the sons that he lost. We never know know the financial circumstances of others. Sometimes artists continue to tour because the band, road crews and management are the ones who need the money and if the touring stops their paychecks stop. Eddie should not be in a situation where he has to tour to survive. But if he is I wish him peace, good health and longevity. But it's obviously time for him to call it a career. This was very hard to watch.
I wish Eddie peace, good health and a lot more years with us. And I'm thankful for the awesome memories.. But obviously it's time to call it career. This was really hard to watch..

Step down Eddie, job well done. It's ok to take your well deserved rest now. Your legacy will live on F O R E V E R!!

what happened to the rest of the O"Jays?

    • @slimdude2011
      @slimdude2011 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Nothing's happened to them! As music groups ages and their youth is gone, they go as long as they can, and then they disband and go their separate ways. The O'Jays were on their last tour a couple of years ago, if I'm not mistaken. Some of them may continue to perform, and some may decide to retire.

Interesting comments, I can see some get it; some don't.
There is more going on here than just some old famous singer trying to stay relevant. Performing is what Eddie Levert does, it's what he's done since he was a teenager! If you've been an employer of musicians all your life, do you stop employing folk just because you've gotten older, worn your instrument down? No, like Frankie Beverly you work with what you have, and continue to help others make their living until you can't! The energy Ed is using in these years he is using unselfishly, so others can continue to support themselves; and if you knew Eddie Levert, you'd know that has to be a part of it...

He Sounds a whole lot better than many young artists whom we'll never see perform Live again and Look A Lot Healthier than Many that are Still With Us...A Living Legend who has Stayed True to Black Soul Funk Music and Fans Since the Late 50s' As Lead Singer of The O'JAYS Whom would take the stage Free of Charge Outdoors at that Proves the Quality of Entertainers The O'JAYS Are...by the way those in attendance and the musicians promotors and Wednesday Wind Down just became part of Music History...By the Way EDDIE Was just Warming Up...Love&Peace luv ya byo eJ ❤❤❤
