A year later I found out that her narcissistic bastard of a friend had gotten her to do it, because that friend felt “left out” because I was in a relationship that was actually fucking working. Also, keep in mind that I was in 9th grade at the time of the breakup, and 10th when I found out why. Also I had been struggling (and still do struggle) with depression and anger issues. Of course nobody knew, ‘cause I don’t like talking to people about myself, so when this happened I nearly punched a hole in my wall and spent the rest of the day (both in 10th and 9th grade) crying my ass off. Her friend moved away from our school this year (thank god), but every time I see someone close to me with their significant other, I can’t bear it. Honestly that 1 time fucked me up from being around people in relationships. Also it killed any chance I had at having a relationship throughout high school. I tried 5 times after she broke up with me, and each time I either got friend zoned, or just plain out rejected.

My mom was supposed to volunteer that day, but the teacher told me she got an email from her saying she couldn't come in bc she wasn't feeling well. When I got home I found out everyone was sick, so I hid in my room eating candy. Eventually it kicked in for my too, and my whole family of 5 in our house all had a really bad 24hr stomach bug. I've always had general anxiety, but ever since this experience I've had a huge fear of throwing up and sickness. We had a bad run of getting stomach bugs around that time of year for a few years which resulted in seasonal worsened anxiety that I still get around late fall, all of winter, and early spring.
Spent every valentines day and anniversary deployed for three years straight. Finally got home in my last nine months and got the day off to go on a trip for mine and my wife's fourth anniversary. Everything was cleared through my chain of command and all of the paperwork was in order. There was no reason I wouldn't have been able to go. Got assigned duty at the headquarters building at the last minute and my special liberty was recalled. Literally got into a screaming match with my SNCOIC(Basically the "assistant manager" of my work-shop). Me and my wife didn't celebrate an anniversary, birthday, thanksgiving, Christmas, new years or valentines day together until this past year, so we've made it awesome. Left the Corps and never ever looked back. I get that I signed up for it but they sure went out of their way to make the first few years of my marriage difficult.
A boy I REALLY liked (punk kid, tough as shit but had a cringy edge that I liked because it wasn't too much) didn't show up to school for 2 days, so I thought he was sick. Turns out he was arrested 2 days before Valentine's day, and what hurt even worse was that 3 days before THAT he got back with his ex and still flirted with me, but never told me.

Well last year me and my best friend (hes a dude) went to the city to have fun. We walked in shushi restraunt to get a table set down then noticed all the hearts. We looked at each ither and then realized we were both wearing sublime shirts. The waiter walked over so we nodded then held hands and ordered. I love that dude.

Also, I have a story that my friend told me. I was in the area (since I was in the drumeline and this took place during a football game), but my friend was at the game with some of our mutual friends and this girl came up to him, now, since its a football game there’s obviously going to be lots of yelling and cheering. So, she went up to him and asked him out, but he didn’t understand what she was saying due to all the screaming. He told me that he heard something about “food”, so he though that she was asking him to go buy her food. He raised and eyebrow and said “No”, she went back to her friends crying and it didn’t hit him until he got home after the game. This happened two years ago and he still feels really bad about it. I couldn’t help but laugh when he told me.
As for me.
This happened during my freshman year of high school. There was the girl who was/still is really pretty. Her guy friends (the same guys who use to bully me all throughout middle school) were the ones who kept telling me that she liked me. Obviously, given their track record, I didn’t believe them. During the last 5 or so days, she leaned up against one of the pillars that we have in my school and tried to get my attention. Problem was, I was too busy talking with my friends, and the assholes didn’t tell me until after she gave up trying and left. I still verbally beat myself up over that. We still talk on occasion, but now she’s dating one of her friends older brother...soooo, yeah...I Royally fucked myself over on that...

My worst Valentine's Day experience was back in elementary school when they would have those little classroom parties of passing out treats and cards. My mom was supposed to volunteer that day, but the teacher told me she got an email from her saying she couldn't come in bc she wasn't feeling well. When I got home I found out everyone was sick, so I hid in my room eating candy. Eventually it kicked in for my too, and my whole family of 5 in our house all had a really bad 24hr stomach bug. I've always had general anxiety, but ever since this experience I've had a huge fear of throwing up and sickness. We had a bad run of getting stomach bugs around that time of year for a few years which resulted in seasonal worsened anxiety that I still get around late fall, all of winter, and early spring.

Spent every valentines day and anniversary deployed for three years straight. Finally got home in my last nine months and got the day off to go on a trip for mine and my wife's fourth anniversary. Everything was cleared through my chain of command and all of the paperwork was in order. There was no reason I wouldn't have been able to go. Got assigned duty at the headquarters building at the last minute and my special liberty was recalled. Literally got into a screaming match with my SNCOIC(Basically the "assistant manager" of my work-shop). Me and my wife didn't celebrate an anniversary, birthday, thanksgiving, Christmas, new years or valentines day together until this past year, so we've made it awesome. Left the Corps and never ever looked back. I get that I signed up for it but they sure went out of their way to make the first few years of my marriage difficult.

Valentines day passes like any other day for me
A boy I REALLY liked (punk kid, tough as shit but had a cringy edge that I liked because it wasn't too much) didn't show up to school for 2 days, so I thought he was sick. Turns out he was arrested 2 days before Valentine's day, and what hurt even worse was that 3 days before THAT he got back with his ex and still flirted with me, but never told me.
