I’m getting a GSP this spring and was just wondering if you could recommend any books about training GSPs?
I know you mentioned in the video that you haven’t worked too much on formal holding. Will you be doing force fetch? What is the reasoning for not doing force fetch yet?
Maybe a silly question...but do you put any scent on your bumpers to help the extension of these marks? He's doing an awesome job marking at distance but is there anything helping him keep his line in the way of scent?
Any tips/reasoning for a now 15.5 week GSP that is having trouble retrieving outside in a fenced in back yard? We play fetch inside the house down a hallway and he does pretty good, but as soon as we get outside he runs up to the object (usually a deer shed since that is what I will be training him for but have tried balls) and either ends up getting distracted by a small twig, bark, leaves, or rabbit poop. This morning during our e-collar recall training he actually did retrieve 2 and bring them back so it’s progress.
Would this be a good drill to work "whoa" with a pointer? He has no issue at all retrieving
YAWA Question- at what temperatures can my two year old black lab safely sleep in the kennel in the back of the truck ? What temperatures are too hot? Too cold ?
YAWA. How long should I keep my chessie from using the stairs (just a few down off the porch on the back of the house) This seems to be a highly debated topic! Thanks in advance!

Why would keep your Chesapeake from using stairs? My in-laws had a few and never stopped theirs from using stairs, not just a few steps but a whole flight of stairs.
Sorry I've never heard of preventing stair usage; it's part of environmental socializing. Obviously as a puppy you don't want them falling and hurting themselves.
How far are those retrieves?
YAWA Question: What makes you choose one e-collar over another and in what situations? MR1100, RAPT 1400/50, H2O 1820/50. Why use multiple collars vs training and hunting with the same collar?
If it's an ergonomic preference, maybe this can be a video idea for a comprehensive comparison between the collars?

vizsla owner here - would it the training count for them ?
My dog is beginning to not want to give me her retrieve. I believe she is beginning to associate giving me her retrieve with playtime being over, and she just doesnt want it to end. Any pointers?
