I am not a cat aspirant, however I am learning a lot with your videos for my banking preparation. Though an old session, still the content are fresh enough to bolster the concept of tackling Rc. Thanks.
Good video. Explained really well :) Tell me one thing - in the 1st rc, you marked b) "it corrects a misconception about the way maps are designed" as what the passage is trying to do. How do we know that there IS a misconception? Like author never mentions that there is a misconception among people about how maps are designed. I am not supporting any other option in this question, but when I first read the option b, I found it very less likely to be the answer.
For RCs, My gut says 1 option. My logic says another. Most of the time my gut awarded ky +3 while being logical cost me -1. I may be going fundamentally wrong somewhere😢.
Only practice can help in this situation. Check out our VARC playlist on TH-cam on different ways to tackle the RC's, which can help in your CAT preparation. All the best.
Hi ma'am. I'm able to manage a 95+ %iles in Quant and DILR sections. Verbal has turned out to be my nemesis. Any suggestions for the last min prep, please.
Thank You very much Mam, I realised while watching your videos, writing the things on paper make your mind settle down about the ideas of the passage and one can make most of the questions correct, i think cat passages is much about how one uses his/her mind, thanks again Mam.
Ma'am can you tell me, how is the quality of your test series , is it harder than cat or easier, I have taken up your institute test series so kindly make a video or just say regarding to it
Ma'am should we keep the main points of the passage in our mind or jot it down? And secondly if we ponder about the author's chain of thought then it leaves us very less time to think about questions. So please tell what is the practical way to go for a passage?
Write down the main point of each paragraph while reading the passage. At the passage level, central idea, chain of thought can be done mentally. The point of the exercise is that you should be able to do these instinctively without having to think about them explicitly. As you practice, you will do these things very quickly.
In initial stages of preparation you can jot it down, but as you prepare more, you should start keeping that in mind. Understanding the author's chain of thought would make it easier for you clearly understand the passage and answer questions in a more accurate way.
hello maam, for the first rc (maps) 1st question 1. what do you mean by the methodology in options 'c';. (def methodology - a system of methods used in a particular area of study or activity ) 2. it is critiquing (if thats the word -sorry my english is not so good) the methodology for using or not using north as the 'up direction' on maps? can you pls elaborate why have you dismissed option c in q1 rc1
Ma'am, How you are able to read and find out the main idea of passage very fastly...? Please help me. I was scoring low in Rc's..? What should be my daily plan for Rc's to crack..? At present, I am able to score 35 - 40 marks in Rc. I need to score 95 %ile in VARC. What should I do daily..?
Really helpful video...it help me a lot.. Your explanation truly awesome.. Thanks a lot mam. Your explanation about central idea of the 2nd question was very nice...I have seen all youtube video of you about cat... Plz madam make a special, specific video on author's view, central theme, inferenc etc of RC
The author did criticised the methodology in the last two lines where he said "that they don't know what they are doing and wherw they are going"....so why can't be option 3 correct?
