The Sea Organ in Zadar, Croatia

I filmed this during my visit to Zadar, Croatia in October of 2018. Some of the clips show a gray sky and crazy water but those angles were filmed during a bad storm that hit Zadar that month. Normally the Sea Organ waters are calm and the sounds are all smooth, even, and melodic.

How loud is it? Is it only heard when standing nearby, or would passing ships hear it?

I don’t believe ships would hear it. It’s loud, but the noise isn’t designed to travel very far.

A guy on another video of the organ said he has a house nearby, and that you have to be pretty close to hear it. I was also curious if it just carries through the town, but it sounds like you have to be in the park there to hear it.

@@calvinlotz7595 Yeah, you’d mostly only hear it if you’re standing right there in the vicinity of it.

Great question. I didn’t try due to the crazy weather. My guess is that you can’t. I don’t think it would be safe. However, I’m not certain. Maybe someone who knows for sure will chime in. :)

There's no law banning swimming but it's still not a swimmers area, which can be reckognised by buoys surrounding them, nor would you want to swim there due to it being hard to use the small steps especially because the sea is almost never calm there
