      Buy a bigger rack and put all the bikes there to save interior space! Put some solar panels

      For me a good cooking space is invaluable. I traveled in the US quite a bit and eating well without cooking was challenging (nearly impossible) outside of urban areas. Plus cooking is so much fun when you take the time. In my van a fan is mandatory in the summer time.

    You know what, a 'woman's touch' it did not have, but a pretty good, well thought out set-up you had there Kyle, & to live out of it for a few years! However, I bet it wasn't as tidy as was shown. I remember a colleague of mine converted a similar van, using the school workshop facilities; using marine ply, etc. He even put in a shower! Anything to cut down on rent & overheads. Mind, he was Australian!
    Look forward to this build - it's going to be something else!

    So stoked you guys did my video suggestion! Growing up it seemed like pro athletes did not care about the "common people." I think I put the van build video request in the live stream comments and maybe in the comments in a video or two. I grew up and still live in Akron, Ohio and I have heard from people in the service industry that even LeBron James does not tip well unless the cameras are on. Good for both of you as couple too, no stereotype that you two are just together because of the pro athlete life of money and fame.

      @@AprilRideMTB LOL I have been listening to some of your podcasts too. Riding 60 MPH down the Swiss Alps at Mega Avalanche is not average to me. 3 time North American champion isn't average to me either. Saw a thumbnail you rode Rays Indoor Mountain Bike park in Milwaukee. The original park is here in Cleveland Ohio. We actually have ski hills too at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The Pink Bike podcasts call Ohio average LOL.

    I love your channel! I’m a MUCH older April, not lucky enough to have found my Kyle. Your ride training videos are great, and I’m also building out a sprinter. I love it that you did a quick and simple build and then used it! So many people get so wrapped around the axle trying to make a perfect Van build that they never make it off of the driveway. I take mine in whatever build stage it is in. It’s still a roof and four walls, which is one up over a tent always!

    Man, love a project van. Can't wait to see the finished thing. Have fun! Once thought about a pull out shower tray on the back (under the tool cupboard) that pulled out when rear doors open so shower outside the van, then zippers in between the door cards and the door so you could open the rear doors and zip canvas between them, then solar shower reservoir on the roof rack. I like those pod ideas too, when the whole inside of a van slides out to double the living space.....you know, if you really want a hardcore diy project 😂

    Love hearing about your first and follow up van builds. Please discuss why you chose a Transit vs others our there, roof height and wheelbase and what you might have done differently with the van purchase now that you have years of van life under your belt. I so enjoy your riding videos and wish you guys the best !

    Get a maxx air vent.
    Best thing to do is 1000 watt inverter. That should run most of your things.
    2-6volt agm bat you can mount anywhere in your van. 190w solar panel.

    • @AprilRideMTB
      @AprilRideMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok will do! We have been looking at those and they seem awesome!

    • @jeffeverhart2312
      @jeffeverhart2312 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AprilRideMTB Hopefully the Maxx air fan is quieter than the fantastic fan! In my camper I have a regular vent above the bed, and a fantastic fan (noisy) in the bathroom on exhaust. With the open vent above the bed, it’s like a ceiling fan, and the noise isn’t directly above you.

We have 6 weeks before the mezzanine arrives for the shop and we are kind of waiting on that before we can really build out the bike shop area and the podcast area. We figured this 6 week lul would be a good time to try to do the van build haha

      Surprisingly the insulation helps a ton. I haven't been cold so far the trips I have done with Kyle , but I think we do plan on getting a small portable heater just in case.
