Update: EBAY Authenticated, BGS Talked

- A day after I posted the first video on the potentially FAKE Precious Metal Gems Michael Jordan Card, 2 updates:
Ebay has authenticated the card and the card is being shipped to me.
BGS emailed me and asked if I want them to reassess the card, send the card to them. Which I will.

Have the family member video the entire process. From box arriving to them opening the box and revealing the card. Don’t skip on any details so BGS can’t question anything. Rooting for you!

First of all, I have to commend you for how well you are taking this, you're so calm and measured. Had this happened to me, I'd be freaking out. Sure it would be good PR for BGS to resolve this, but so they should given it was their huge stuff up to begin with grading it as a PMG.. I will give them credit for reaching out and not staying silent like they have in the past though
Sounds like this is a golden moment for BGS to make things right and hopefully right their wrong.
Also looks like the seller is extremely helpful and willing to help, which is a pleasant surprise.
Really hope BGS steps up and cuts you a check for $23k.
I know PSA has a policy where if they damage a card while slabbing it, they will cover the cost of that card in the event they are liable for the damage. Though not sure if there are price limits.
This is also a huge reminder to everyone that eBay authenticity guarantee means nothing. I don’t care if the plastic is real I want to know the card I’m buying is real. Seams like an opportunity for eBay to also do the right thing and maybe change there policy a bit. Great news the plastic is real but the cards fake but don’t worry nobody will ever know lol. Hope this ends well for everyone involved.

I’d Beckett doesn’t fix this it’s safe to say this will be the final hole in a sinking ship. I won’t buy another slab of theirs in my life and I spend thousands on cards every month
Authenticating the "slab only" is pretty worthless. Ebay's authentication policy for raw cards is far more meaningful. Beckett needs to make you whole.... 100% their fault. Buy the Card- not the slab!
EBay helped me with a fake pokemon card that was raw. They were great it deal with.

You have a certain time to return the card when purchased. I’m a seller on eBay for a long time. Customer already file and get a refund.

Why not just return the slab/card back to the seller and move on?
I bet the guy got the card for almost nothing sent it to BGS expecting it to be sent back as fake but it wasn’t so he seen $$$
So if beckett says... ok... it's not authentic.... now what? Bgs is not gonna compensate anyone... someone is gonna be out a lot of money... either you or the seller. The only way to get bgs to pay would me to take them to court and prove that their error cost someone money... might not be worth it at that point tho... this is a crazy situation
I don't know if you are still in the US, but if so I would personally hand deliver the card to BGS... All you need is for the card to somehow go missing in the mail and that's the end of it. For the money at stake I would be ensuring zero change Beckett don't receive the card personally.
honestly, you can get your money back from the seller as item not as described. just return it and ebay will force your refund. ebay always sides with the buyer. you are letting the seller off way too easy. of course he acts like he’s on your side but in truth he didnt pay 23k for the card, and you’re the one eating the huge loss. he knows you could force a return so he is pretending to help. whatever he paid for the card it is nowhere near what you paid. so just get your money back from the seller with an ebay dispute.

ebay auth is a joke. I bought what this ebay listing said was a 93 finest refractor jordan raw, passed ebay auth, and when I got it wasnt a refractor. Contacted ebay all they offered me was 50% of what I paid. Said once it passes ebay auth Im s-o-l.

the card isn't even nice lol I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for this let alone 23k LOL ..... id take a dam 1990 fleer base card over this any day of the week LOL.
This whole story is ridiculous for the buyer after paying for the card in a BGS slab even before it was shipped out to immediately yell fraud, go public on youtube claiming he believed it was fake and then cite evidence based on a couple hobbyists posing as sherlock holmes that posted on instagram it was colored in using a red marker.

what i don't understand is the buyer said he thought about the upside at that price and his bid was about $10k higher than the final bid because he knew other cards previously had sold for 6 figures so he knew it was questionable to begin with but the upside was too big for him not to bite.
