Its an unlimited lotus which in mint condition will never get past 5k. Beta is à different story. À mint beta Mox might get 4-5k and thats it. But still they got ripped off...
That Black Lotus was from the Unlimited Set, even if the other 2 are from Alpha set, 700, the condition alone would drop that lotus to around 1,000-1,500 only. At most they set out to make 3-4k total that's assuming they can actually move the cards. So they didn't get ripped off that much.
Collector's Edition/Collector's Edition - International Mox Pearl and Timetwister, maybe between $130-140 each depending on where you look. Unlimited Black Lotus, probably in played condition, I would guess around $4-5k. Also, don't exactly know when this program aired, so this is just based on prices as of today. Assuming this aired the day it was posted here (extremely unlikely) then that would mean they didn't get quite as destroyed since card prices have gone up a lot in the last few years, but it wasn't over 20k worth of rekt.
@Shal ucard That's an Unlimited Lotus, looks heavy played, probably worth about $1000 at the time of this upload, the pearl and the twister were Collectors edition, also not worth much at the time. Not really much of a ripoff.
Sm0ker hey dumb dumb. Look at eBay and other sights. Beat lotus go for 2500 and up as long as it's sleeve playable. Get your facts straight before you open your mouth. They got an amazing deal.
"I'll put my three Power Nine cards here in this very cheap binder, alongside my Scars of Mirrodin commons, a Pilgrims Eye, and my Glistener Elf which deserves to be in the central spot of the last page." Yeah, right. Let me put my skepticals on this one.
Good for the gamer. At least it ended up in the right hands. I mean, granted, the Timetwister and Mox Pearl are collector's edition, but the unlimited Black Lotus alone for $700 would have any MTG player salivating. Well done. Also, the only person who really got ripped off was the person whose storage got liquidated of those cards
Black loyus is $13-14k the time twister collectors is 1.1 and the mox is around 700 usd so basically he payed him for the mox and got about 15k free and this is why u need to know what u have before u sell it.
guys, this is all fake and setup, he didn't get ripped off because those cards were probably borrowed for the episode, probably from the same guy that "bought" them.
Wow these two jock heads got ripped off. Love how he's making fun of them the whole time but he just sold probably 10-20 grand worth of cards for 700 bucks.
People commenting on "being ripped off" should remember that this was uploaded in january, 2013. The sale was likely in 2012.. Prices were WAY lower back then - and especially the CE Mox Pearl and CE Timetwister was not worth much. They were considered proxies and not "real" cards (i.e. they were not legal for any play except kitchen table magic - they still aren't, but people accept them today and play them in some unsanctioned tournaments - a huge change in perception)… I bought a Lotus in 2012 for just below $800 in that condition… This is a vendor, and I don't think the price is especially low for 2012-prices... This was a fine deal for selling to a vendor 6 years ago...
I am sure this trader was really upset that he lost the flip... Damn...managing to keep a straight face during all of this is some serious self-control!
Neck beard is tingling; The Mox and the TimeTwister are Collector's Edition cards square corners gold backing cost of them both is about 200 dollars as of today (2 Feb 2017) The lotus is damaged in the bottom left portion of the card so you're looking at about 1200 buckaroos for that Unlimited Black Lotus. Cards like these don't really have a real price tag it's whomever someone is willing to pay for them.
And extra brownie points, This guys "collection" was around the Mirrodin Besieged time frame in-which Black Lotus Unlimited version were selling at on secondary market ~1200 for Mint cond LP 900 MP 700 and damaged for 500ish.
I can see they are playing a zendikar limited at the beginning, so I assume it's from 2009/2010. The prices were much lower back then. I would say a mint unlimited Lotus was like 500 dollars.
Ok, I've gotta point out that the Mox and Twister have square corners so they aren't nearly as valuable (aprox. $90 each). As for the Lotus at the time, was probably worth around $1200-$1500 in MINT condition, that was clearly not mint. Also with bigger items you incur bigger risks such as finding a buyer, it's not every day you have someone walk into your store and ask to buy pieces of power 9. If you decide to sell online you have to consider fees, shipping, insurance, placing it at a low enough price to sell. these are all things that you have to consider when buying cards to sell for profit. he was given a fair price for the cards in my opinion.
I enjoy how he straightface robbed the super lippy fat man, Like 3 thousand dollars worth of cards for 700 dollars, and guy fieri there like i'm the best!
if the "deal" was real or anything in that show was actually real then yes, they did get ripped off. But its all scripted and set up so no one got ripped off, the cards were just a few cards loaned for the show to use, great advertising for the shop that owned them and was "buying them" in the show and shock value to morons that watch these shows thinking its all legit
Lol, so true. A full box of junk from 201x and then suddenly ancient cards from '93? Does not compute. Impossible to have a 'collection of worthless commons from 2016' with the most iconic Magic card in existence. If that ain't proof they just borrowed the cards to have a show...
6 years ago that's about what they went for.. wtf happened. Sold my alpha nm lotus for 2500...im sick now looking at the price spike. Magic been around for 20 some years.. what changed after my sellout
Everyone saying he got ripped off has no idea what the card prices were like back in early 2012. That lotus was HP/damaged and the other two pieces of power were CE which were like 50 bucks on a good day. This was a fair deal back then. Even more so. Vendors get shit on even when they're offering fair deals, people are so ignorant.
Lmao that guy at the desk just made a huge profit. They should've googled what black lotus goes for on their phone as soon as the sales guy indicated it was a rare card.
To anyone saying he got ripped off... This happened in 2012 unlimited lotus was only 1500$ mint, that one was mp, 700 WAS a fine deal at the time. The spike in price began about 6-8 months after this occurred.
"I don't speak geek"
Too bad he didn't cause he was ripped off by over 20k
Black Lotus only went up in price recently... But still they were so ripped off
Its an unlimited lotus which in mint condition will never get past 5k. Beta is à different story. À mint beta Mox might get 4-5k and thats it. But still they got ripped off...

Tim Kanters th ey didn't g wrt ripped off. don't expect the guy to pay what it's worth. he's running a business and has to make money himself

I would pay $650 for a black lotus every damn day.
I think he got the Mox Pearl too
dude got ass rammed on that one lmao
@Shal ucard That's an Unlimited Lotus, looks heavy played, probably worth about $1000 at the time of this upload, the pearl and the twister were Collectors edition, also not worth much at the time. Not really much of a ripoff.
That's what I got mine for...mind you it was in 2007.
Sm0ker hey dumb dumb. Look at eBay and other sights. Beat lotus go for 2500 and up as long as it's sleeve playable. Get your facts straight before you open your mouth. They got an amazing deal.
HE JUST ROBBED THIS MAN
well 3 years ago
I KNOW I WAS FREAKING OUT WHEN HE SAID 700 FOR THOSE
He was taking advantage because they dont know what they are doing
Dude that's so fucked up lol
Well, the guy has to make money.
damn he got majorly ripped off
+Matrix_ yeah! so true
+Matrix_ Not really, you can get a whole white bordered power 9 for 2000 so its fine haha.
nm lol
Humodake $14,000 you mean...
if I am not mistaking that card costs about $100,000
MY GOD watching this in 2020 really makes me cry
That unl lotus is 12k and the CE timewister is nearly 2k
I swair that even back then they would be worth more than that.
On another video they also found one of the most rarest Nintendo game but they didn't sell to that store.
And watching this in 2021 makes me cry even more
this is scripted
I wish I could buy a black lotus for 650
$650/3 thats what he sold the lotus for
I think he got the Mox Pearl too
Debbie Matzen same
but its not an alpha or beta lotus... not worth 20-30k
Stona Raptor still not worth 650 at least a couple thousand
i love how they flip a coin and the guy loses either way
700 black Lotus? Yes... you're a genius 😂😂😂
"I'll put my three Power Nine cards here in this very cheap binder, alongside my Scars of Mirrodin commons, a Pilgrims Eye, and my Glistener Elf which deserves to be in the central spot of the last page."
Yeah, right. Let me put my skepticals on this one.
Library of Alexandria should be power 9. Just cause some weren't original beta/alpha I guess.
I'd love to see him find out Black Lotus actually worth $5,000 - $6,000
thats for unlimited. beta black lotus is 17k and alpha is almost 20k
That particular lotus is also graded at BCS 10, so yeah.
yeah, even graded fresh out of the pack usually can't even get that, so that one was perfect.
a lot fucking more then that man
That was an unlimited print, in good shape it's about $4500
"I don't speak geek." ..Next time try to. It takes 5 min to turn on any kind of internet device and google "Black Lotus"
GroovinMagicK That is why i think its fake. Name of the card is printed clearly, so you have to be pretty stupid not to google it :)
GroovinMagicK I doubt he knows how to use an internet.
GroovinMagicK dude this was back before smart phones were a thing
@@pokemorgasm7157 Thank goodness Apple invented the internet to go along with the first iPhone!
Black Lotus, Timetwister, and a Mox Pearl for $700? Yes please.

Christ... Unlimited Black Lotus is about 20k just 7 years after this comment
Black loyus is $13-14k the time twister collectors is 1.1 and the mox is around 700 usd so basically he payed him for the mox and got about 15k free and this is why u need to know what u have before u sell it.
@@Phat_Tokes Prices were different in 2012 tho lmfao
I love how 3 pieces of power end up in that pile of random junk. Ahem *cough* plant!
700 for a lotus plus whatever else...that guy just had the best day of his life right there.
That was literally normal price in 2012.
@@GoobNoob no

+Skwisgar2322 Trade you a NES 101 for em!
if it is, then no way would I wanna make me look like a rip off artist lol especially if I own a business
How fucking dare you question the integrity of A&E's Storage Wars. APOLOGIZE
My brother said the cards were fake + if they were real he got screwed out of a shit load of money
justinjm466 they might not be fake, a long time ago cards had rounded corners and some sets had white boarders
When I heard how much he bought the lotus... I was laughing my ass off so much.
Unlimited, not Alpha lotus and this is a very old episode. If it was an Alpha Lotus it'd be something entirely different.
dude man got ripped off... if he sold it online he would have made bank
Wow these two jock heads got ripped off. Love how he's making fun of them the whole time but he just sold probably 10-20 grand worth of cards for 700 bucks.
“Gets the most” he says while getting absolutely fleeced lol

Was it really $800 in 2012? That's wild, I thought unlimiteds ran for 2-3k then.
@@MeemoTV in 2012 the entire card market was dead. Everything would've been lower and people would not have paid "optimistic" prices

2021 any Black Lotus goes beyond 100k$
They thought they made a good deal with 700$ 😂

I feel so sorry for this guy people probably laughed at them once they left.
Dude says nah I want $700. Other dude is like LOLokay.
He ripped him off. All Lotus cards are 1000+.
one sold for 27k
one sold for 40
40k*
It was like five or so thousand for the Black Lotus, I thousand or so for the white mox and a little over 800 for the time twister or so.
plus a white mox...and whatever the else hell he had

700/3 actually the other 2 cards were in that price
goddamn that guy just robbed him of 3 of the power 9
Time and mox are CE/IE
And Black lotus was damaged
700$ seems fine to me
Lotus was not damaged, it was HP
he was just happy to be robbed...
$700 for $9000 worth in 3 cards
The beauty of buying from people who do no research. Everyone came out of that happy, both are gonn make a profit :)
Lotus UNL, Mox and Twister are from the IE or CE collectors edition, which you can see at the corner pikes.. but still a good buy i guess

Wow. He was ripped off. These days, The Black Lotus is an extremely rare and unique card to come across. It's easily worth about 20k.
No its about 1k or 2k because it is banned
no it sells for 20k in the alpha, 15k in the beta and upwards of 5k in other sets
+WildMan assuming they're in great condition, of course. people aren't gonna get much money for it if it has wears and bends all over it.

and that's why its the best card in magic.
it's too good it got banned from the game lol

Right. That's why you're short a couple thousand in cash....

the black boarder depending on quality is a 20-30,000$ card
The "geek" just ripped the meathead off
Darell got ripped off by like 2000 bucks
