I've been making this style of pants since the seventies and I still make and wear them. They never seem to go out of fashion. It's lovely to see such a simple, stylish, comfortable and easy design be passed along. Your tutorial was really well made and very clear and easy to follow.

It takes a little longer, but I use the patterned border to make the waistband and tie for a much more finished look. Then I use leftover fabric - there is always enough - to make a matching off shoulder crop top for a luxurious set. Often there is still remaining fabric for a 3rd piece - a quick pair of elastic waisted shorts that go great with the crop top.
