    Imagine having a fountain pen and a rollerball version and sending a ballpoint to fountain pen guy! Thanks for turning this '80s Sharper image gizmo into a science experiment, this was an entertaining video

    I never cease to be amazed at your clever combination of science principles and pen reviews. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks.

    This brought back memories of science experiments in grade school! ('70s). Magnets were cool but playing with mercury with bare hands wasn't the smartest thing we did. Miracle we survived.

      That sounds pretty cool edit: and you’re still around, so maybe not too bad.

    You'd be a great Science teacher! I love learning by doing and I understand so much more that way. I'm sure you'd be the favourite teacher/prof in the school if you taught.

      Same. I am hands on as well We all learn in differently ways and there is usually one way that is our strongest. Along with using the other methods helps me too. Cheers

    Thanks for doing this experiment so we don't have to. I have the impression you're going have iron filings pop up here and there for a long, long time.

      I keep finding them on the pen each time. At least they're always in the same spots LOL

    Such a cool review!! I've looked at this thing a couple times. You're right; it would make a great desk accessory. Especially at the office! You'd have to make sure not to use refills with any kind of iron in the ink=D

  • @Soul_Watcher
    @Soul_Watcher ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That’s a cool pen. Oh yeah, they have to be some Star Trek fans on the design team. There has to be. Otherwise it it is a happy co-ink-idence. 😏
    Yes. I am happy with myself for coming up with that. 😆
    I find it interesting that what we still consider futuristic is more than a century old. All started by an Italian poet by the name of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in 1909.
    And of course because more solidified in the 1960’s with 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Trek.
    Again, fun vod. Thanks much. Cheers

    I've been looking at the 3.0 since they offer it in a fountain pen.

    It took a bit of engineering to get this to work correctly. It's a pen that will distract you. Really nice.

    Super cool looking, but definitely would want to use a fountain pen instead of a ball point. Awesome review, with tons of detail as usual. Looking forward to all of the stuff you are up to.

    It could be a great idea to promote this as a pen thats is designed to be faster/more efficient to use because of the one-handed cap removal technique, you could probably solve the reliability problem by tweaking the design and/or adding weight to the base.

    • @Doodlebud
      @Doodlebud  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mind you a pen that clicks is even quicker LOL But its an interesting piece and I like the looks of it and how it works. Fun to play with

    It would be interesting to know:
    Where the ferromagnetic metals they use are sourced from?
    How the design of their products came about?
    What other products they sell besides ferromagnetic ones?
    Whether they have a material science department?

  • @gristlevonraben
    @gristlevonraben ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Holy cow, those are strong magnets, n52 or higher, I did not know they went higher, but for the size, those are incredible clusters of iron filings. I have filings like that and I have n42s, and they only do about 2/3rds of that.

    If you need to replace that “refill remover” it’s the same one that comes with graphics tablets. Still no easy to search for but pretty inexpensive once found.

    A bit off topic but any recomendations for canadian retailers to get inks from that ship? I hate having to order from outside the country to get certain inks like diamine. Canadian amazon sellers welcome also.
