I’ve never experienced anything like this before but she showed me Jesus in her arms as a defenseless infant and said “This is how my Son loves you.” It was profound to suddenly understand the impact of Jesus leaving his glory in heaven to become a defenseless infant born to a poor mother and then to go on to die for my sins. It was as though I was realizing Christ’s love for me by appealing to the kind of love shared between a mother and her baby.
