doing a restoration (rebuild) of an old YTP from 2007 or 2008.. ronald mcdonald scared silly. there's a scene where they're singing in the haunted house and it had i.m. meen dancing. seriously, those were the good old days. i'm sad that those old YTPs are gone, but at least I have a good chunk of it memorized. i wonder if anyone here knows of it? ronald's car said "name is axel" (then switches to a clip of Axel from Kingdom Hearts saying, "Got it memorized?")

Late af reply bcos youtube stopped notifying me of comments on this acc apparently (even though i barely get any???) but... i put the GIFs into Photoshop and changed the height under image size to 720, with the resample set to "Hard Edges (Nearest Neighbour)", then exported them as GIF files. You can do that to any resolution, but my PC of the time struggled with it so I stuck to 720. I had to segment some of the longer animations to achieve it.
I.M. Meen is essentially a DOOM clone with quasi-horror elements. You play as a child recently abducted by one Ignatius Mortimer Meen: a powerful sorcerer (and implied pedophile) posing as a public librarian, who routinely spirits away kids into his own pocket universe, in which he's built an elaborate prison called the Magic Labyrinth. You must traverse the 20 levels of the Labyrinth and free the other children, while killing any of Meen's employees that get in your way, before taking on Meen himself. Here's the twist. The only way to unlock the jail cells is by correcting grammatical errors in scraps of writing you find; ephemera ranging from memos written the gnomes Meen contracted to build the Labyrinth, terse letters from Meen's debtors (building labyrinths isn't cheap), correspondence between Meen and his girlfriend (Ophelia Chill), harsh rejection letters from publishing companies, Meen's diaries (including stuff from his childhood, and events leading up to--and concurrent with--the game), and Meen's own cringey self-insert fan fiction. The game is legitimately off-the-walls insane with its lore, and I'd recommend you play it if the gameplay itself wasn't so repetitive and tedious. There was also a sequel, Chill Manor, but it wasn't very good.
