I hope in the next season, he just stops this weird obsessive towards Wednesday, lol

My theory on Xavier is that he's driven by his psychic visions similar to how Wednesday is driven by hers. He sees Wednesday in his visions and draws pictures of her. This grows into an obsession despite Wednesday not showing any interest in him at all. ( not helped by Xavier often coming across as condescending ) This leads to him following her and even leads to jealousy when she shows interest in Tyler instead.
That would be interesting and make a lot more sense. I hope that they actually explore that in season 2 cuz in this season, Xavier and Tyler just seemed kinda obsessed with her for no reason. Tyler’s interest is at least explained by the end, but Xavier’s isn’t.

Yeah I always felt that Xavier and Tyler felt like older brothers to Wednesday in the first two episodes. It felt really odd when they started simping for her mid way through the first season

To be honest, the scene when Wednesday crushed the spider made me so sad, as an artist, because it was such disrespect to his work, even if I don't like him that much. It felt like showing someone what you're working on, and they just threw it to trash.

I think xavier is way more interesting than he appears to be. I think he was 2 steps ahead of Wednesday the whole time. Protecting her like her own little personal emo bodyguard all semester. Confronting his roommate cause he knew what he was up to. Chatting up Wednesday at the fair and looking worried cause he saw some stuff. He knew the location of both baddies, saw what monster it was, painted his dead shrink and asked for an emergency meeting in the woods (to prevent her from getting offed in her office like he saw in his vision). He kept on going to Wednesday's side every time Tyler went after her. He saw it happening and tried to protect her. Wednesday (and the audience) is just clueless about it thats all.

i don't hate him, but the thing he did that annoyed me most was what he did to Bianca. he broke up with her because she's a siren... which is something she literally has no control over?? and let's not even get started on him asking her to then use her siren powers on him. Bianca was so right for calling him out there and storming off. also his power had loads of potential but was so underused, like he brought a spider to life and called it a day
It was less because she was a siren and more because he thought she might have been using her powers on him. No one want's to be controlled by the person their in a relationship with. Plus bianca definitely seemed like the type of person who would with how she was acting towards others. I love bianca and how deep her character is however she simply made herself look like the type she didn't want to be made out to be. I'm sure if she was more nice and less trying to get whatever she wanted Xavier would have trusted her more. After all he knew she was a siren when they first started dating. Something must have led him to think that she'd use said power on him. However i do agree with you on the second part. It was undeniably wrong for him to ask her to use her powers on him. That ultimately defeats the purpose of him wanting to leave if he thought it was fake love and also the fact that it's majorly hurtful and inconsiderate of bianca's feelings
Also it is important to mention, that when Wednesday was hiding under Xavier’s bed (after she literally broke into his room and went through his things), Bianca and Xavier had an argument about why they had broken up. There Bianca mentioned that the mind control thing happened only once (I hope that I remember the dialog correctly). This means he was controlled by her at one point and that incident led to him breaking up with her (not the fact she was a siren). But I agree that what he did to her at the ball was wrong.

But Bianca deserved better.
He did not break up with her for being a siren. He would have know she was a siren when they met and they dated a pretty long time for teenager. If you pay attention to their talks and context clues She did something that really upset him once and instead of trying to talk thing out and saying she was sorry, she took her amulet off and spelled him into forgetting about it or no longer being bothered by it (the "one time mistake" She alludes to in her talk with him in episode 2) . Once her spell wore off and he relized what she did he was of course (rightfully) even more mad at her and demanded to know if she had ever used her powers on him before. Bianca felt guilty I guess because she answered him that "maybe she had maybe not" (rember what she said about her amulet not being 100% effective). After that Xavior told her she had broken his trust and broke up with her.
Imagine poor Xavier getting out of jail after being framed because Miss Wednesday was just absolutely convinced he was a monster, only to find out she tortured a guy

Xavier was mostly annoyed because he told Wednesday to stay away from Tyler because of what he did to him. That’s why he seemed so frustrated most of the time. Of course he was jealous but after rewatching the show for the third time it becomes clear that he frustrated because Wednesday doesn’t listen to his „warnings“

i'm down with them as friends, but jenna saying xavier & wednesday should be platonic/almost sibling-like is like she forgot that's actually eugene's role for wednesday. wednesday literally called him like her little brother. not saying wednesday can't have more than one sibling-like bond with more than one boy, but it should be with someone else who wasn't romantically interested in her in the past. it's not easy for guys like xavier to switch from seeing the girl he was very much romantically interested in (and kinda obsessed with) to a "sister."
but i do see him lowering his expectations next season and try to approach wednesday in a more friendly manner seeing as he's ok if she doesn't call but he hopes she would at least text. it really just depends on if the writers even care about developing their relationship nicely in a not-forced way.

It wasn't downright creepy, but it looked like he couldn't help it and it had something to do with his nightmares rather than his feelings. The writers will have to work more thoroughly on their communication if they mean them to be a convincing endgame. Otherwise it will be like "well, the first guy turned out to be a monster, let's check out this one", which feels lazy.

I really rooted for Xavier since the beginning. Man was going through it.
I suspect though that Xavier's visions are connected to Wednesday even more than to Tyler, & that is why he's obsessed with her. He secretly thinks they're destined to be a couple since she saved his life when they were 10 & now she's come to the same school, so fate must be bringing them together for a reason. Despite knowing Tyler over a year at least (since Tyler, the mayor's son & the other boys attacked him the previous Outreach Day), he doesn't dream of the monster until Wednesday is after it. The day she arrives he is working on a mural in the quad. A mural of a large raven, which we could just attribute to Poe but later Morticia tells Wednesday that her type of vision ability is categorized as a raven, more intense & precise in strength but focused on dark aspects. When she enters the quad with Enid he's working on it & stops to look over at them as if he knows Enid is talking about him right as Enid is gossiping about how he & Bianca broke up. Also he dreams about Rowan wanting to harm Wednesday & confronts him. She sees their fight about her when she touched the picture, so she's not surprised when seeing the gargoyle pic in his room later. He only starts dreaming of the monster after Wednesday claims it killed Rowan. Then he dreams of the gate to the Gates mansion, not even knowing why, just as Wednesday gets a vision from Goody telling her to go there cause it's connected to the danger. So he already has a detailed drawing of it ready when she comes to ask for his help to find where it is. He dreams of the monster killing the therapist just as Wednesday finds out it has a master & so she now suspects the therapist is the master. Yes, all his visions are connected to Wednesday.

Sure coincidences happen, but 1 of the quotes Wednesday says is how 1 coincidence is coincidence, but multiple coincidences usually aren't.

Ok, This tells me a few things: All of us had watched a different show and this show itself is divisive. I actually like Tyler and saw the "signs" he was talking about (It's not just in the face). It was NEVER a real love triangle. Tyler had the benefit of Wednesday visiting his coffee shop everyday, took her out to the dance, and had a movie date. Xavier despite all of his advances got shut down by Wednesday. I don't want Xavier even being friends with her because his intentions of dating her are clear.
Also, the guy has the power to animate his drawings, and not once used them effectively.
Yeah like I get what the writers were convincing Jenna. She was afraid of a love triangle and the writers assured her it wasn't the case. AND IT REALLY WASN'T! Tyler didn't genuinely like Wednesday after all, and Xavier one-sidedly liked Wednesday. There was no triangle formed.
I don't really see the signs Tyler is on about but as an ace autistic person, I have had to learn that many people take things differently to me and many things have romantic undertones that I miss. While the ideas of Wednesday being aspec or autistic are only head canons, she clearly has a different understanding of social cues so logically, she's just talking to him because she wants his help escaping Nevermore but there's a lot of things she says and does which I can understand being misread

unpopular opinion:
xavier shouldn't have forgiven her so easily. he said he "saw a lot of things in the cell", which obv means he's been traumatized because of the false accusations she threw at him, but he just went right back to being all lovey-dovey with her as soon as he escaped.
If I was writing the show I would have a plot in season 2 that goes something like this:
Wednesday realises she likes Xavier. Enid finds out and suggests she sets them up and Enid will tell her what to say, which would be really funny to watch. Wednesday somehow gets roped into doing it. During this time, Xavier realises “what the fuck am I doing with this girl she arrested and harassed me” and spends the rest of the series avoiding her at all costs.

I need writers to properly develop Xavier's character. He has the potential to be so much more but the writers did him dirty. Yes. the show focuses on Wednesday, but literally, every other character had plotlines more fleshed out than Xavier. Enid about her identity as a werewolf and standing up to her mom, Bianca standing up to her mom/Morning Song plotline, Tyler and his daddy issues, hell even Eugene had a decent arc where he contributes to the final fight. What is Xavier outside of his relationship with Wednesday? How is he with his family? We don't get any of that even tho the other supporting characters did.
I need the writers for season 2 to make him more likable as a character and as a person. There's still hope, characters I thought were gonna stay being unlikable or underdeveloped improved and became popular during season 2 and beyond (Steve Harrington & Max Mayfield, Stranger Things, Paxton from Never Have I Ever) so I need Xavier to get that treatment.
After he becomes a better character, then maybe his ship with Wednesday might get more support. Both of them need to work on their own issues before being in a relationship with anybody tho.
They seriously need to give him more backstory. Like all we know ab his family is that his dad was a selfish douche that didn't care too much about his son. What about his mom? Any siblings?

Can you please do a Tyler's pov? I am having a really hard time following his storyline... I mean was he evil minded from the start? I know he was turned a week or two before wednesday's arrival but was his intentions really bad? Did he really not care about Wednesday (romantically or Platonically)? If he did care at the beginning, then when did he become evil? Was he in control of his thoughts or Thornhill could manipulate that too? During the dance when Wednesday confronted Tyler about the prank I felt that he was sincere when he said that there were no excuse for why he did what he did but he swore he was not a bad person. That kinda stuck with me. Also, he knew that wednesday has visions of whatever she touches so he should have figured it out not to get involved with Wednesday (Or try kissing her). Why did Thornhill went to great lengths to hide the identity of hyde but didnt really stop Tyler from pursuing her?
I am so confused. I don't think Wednesday will ever forgive him or ever be interested in him again but if he was really not bad then I want to see his redemption.
I may very well be wrong because I heard this from someone on the internet and haven’t checked, but I believe Tyler’s actor mentioned somewhere that his character really did like Wednesday at some point, so he can’t be completely evil or hanging out with her purely for manipulation. But I guess we’ll see.

Honestly, I kinda hope these two become a thing later on (emphasis on "later on") because I actually want to see 1) Xavier realize his feelings for Wednesday were mostly perpetuated by personal issues regarding validation and a cool psychic link that ties into more plot-stuff, and 2) Wednesday forced to actually reconcile the fact that she has feelings for someone who doesn't reciprocate, she hurt before, but is still nevertheless truly her friend. I just think the character interactions could be really interesting in season two if they play their cards right.

He's a little simp who's going to let himself get continuously hurt by Wednesday because he can't learn to Let Go and allow things to happen as they may. I personally think the whole love triangle was SO unnecessary 💀💀 after the first two episodes I expected Wednesday to not have a love interest cuz she's such a good character and her storyline didn't seem to cater to that. But oh boy they truly gave us the worst, most boring and annoying love interests possible huh 💀 I really think that addition was unnecessary. Maybe Tyler cuz of his betrayal etc. etc. but he was so annoying before the reveal too
