I'm sure you've been playing a game or watching a video on your phone when suddenly it is interrupted with an add for a weird and fake looking mobile game. I've seen a lot of channels try out these games to see if they play as advertised, but they haven't covered what I find most interesting about these games. Are they LEGAL? False advertising is a dangerous game, Theorist, so why do these mobile games get away with it? Let's find out!

What bothers me about these ads are the children clicking on it.
and then buy in-app stuff because their parents don't keep track of what their children are doing and aftrwards blame the entire game industry for robbing them of their money.

The worst one is Evony which straight up lies to you in the ad. It says, "Most mobile game ads show things that don't happen in the actual game. Fortunately, Evony doesn't do this." As soon as you install and open the app you can see it's completely different.

Legit, I only tried Evony when I finally found *one* ad that wasn't overly sexualized and was just advertising a city builder. Overall, I decided it wasn't that fun and stopped playing. But... yeah.

I love Gardenscapes and Homescapes they actually added those adds into the games as fun optional minigames for rewards and they made it much more common now it’s every two or three levels

Many people ask why the game developers don't just make the games shown in the ads, as those fake games often look more fun the actual game.
The truth is that sadly those fake games are harder to monetize. You can have millions of levels and power ups and in game purchases with a match 3 game with little art cost, but with a pull the key style game, there is only so much you can do before you run out of art or ideas.
If I can't make a game about key pulling then I just don't make the ad about key pulling.

I just got one of these weird ads. The game was called Charlotte's Table. It was your typical puzzle game but, the ad opens with them mentioning that Charlotte was kidnapped on her first birthday.
Regardless of whether they’re illegal because they’re misleading, the grotesque cartoon style of some of those ads is truly a crime against humanity

Still illegal in Germany, because a currency is not only money. When you install an app you pay with personal data companies can use to show personalized ads. If you didn't want this for the game you downloaded but rather for the one shown in the ads it's illigal and can be sued.

They should make a system AI for if a half-assed mobile game is added to their app, it monitors the downloads and deletions. If the game is deleted continuously in a matter weeks and uses false advertisement should be instantly deleted and banned from the store. Just like how TH-cam monitors demonitization. It would make more room for actual games that don't profit off of people's stupidity and ad revenue. It would fix the App Stores issue, or they could ACTUALLY monitor their app and get rid of all these terrible games.

I think the main problem with these ads popping up frequently and to no end is because of lax regulations on online advertising. The lesson learned is this: any new thing without rules or regulations can be exploited for malicious gain, and mobile companies abuse these ads (includes psychological tricks to attract players) with no end in sight.
And then there is those fake misleading "take her clothes off" ads and other very sexual stuff, like what?

Let’s not forget when they show you a “demo” and VERY AGGRESSIVELY tell you to touch the screen, and when you do, they just take you to the page on the App Store. Taking it a step further, they have a disembodied hand play the demo VERY BADLY so you’ll feel compelled to buy the game to do it right. It’s so, so, annoying.
Yup...the making obvious mistakes is a ploy to make you want to download it to do better. Then when you download it, the game is nothing like the ad.

It makes me miss the ads where you could actually click on them and it would do something. Those gave me something to do while my flash games loaded, although in fairness the flash games would have probably loaded already if there weren't interactive ads to load first :/
Another thing is when they used other people's things. I've heard my favorite utuber's audios in mobile ads. Their game plays in games for other games.
A missed opportunity... The initial logo light up could have included Fashion Theory's blue colour to forecast its release.

I downloaded Homescapes a few years ago because the pull the key thing looked interesting and I was really disappointed that it wasn't what it said. I kept playing it anyway because I liked it better than Candy Crush because of the mansion building concept and better storyline. I think it took until level 1260-ish before I ran into the first of those mini games with the pull the key concept. Now I get one of them every 20-30 levels. I think that may have been added in because of too many complaints. The sad part is it's not a terrible game and it probably would have done fine if the ads were truthful.

They've become self-aware and how have "font you hate disleading games". I play My universe. Its a fun game and the add isn't false at all. Its exactly like the little demo you get to play. I do wish they had a landscrap mode for iPad but other than that its a really fun game with delightful sound effects. The only annoying thing is that ads CONSTANTLY pop up out of nowhere when your least expecting it. Yes you can watch ads to to get more of a specific type of material but sometimes they'll pop up after you've gotten another piece of land which is a little annoying when it happens multiple times but its not too bad.
Whats really annoying is when they pop up and when the add is over you go back and you've died meaning you have to make your way back to where you when you died. You don't lose anything when you die which is nice, except any progress you've made in defeating one of the high level bosses. I've found running away, letting you 'health bar' go back up and go back for the attack works rhe best.

remember when mobile game ads were like the clash of clans commercials you would see, the animated 3d ads they actually invested in
To this day I still have an aversion to any game that has a screaming guy for their thumbnail/icon.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio trust me, the first time i saw one of the clickbait ads, i threw my phone at a wall and destoyed it with a hatchet. i know resort to old flip phones and use a pc, since i dont have to see such heretical pieces

Well unless they copy and/or steal footage form a copyrighted game/ a game made by a company that is copyrighted. So you have some hope for these companies to get what they deserve
