I used to live in Iowa. My heart goes out to the victims. Especially of the family of the 6th grader. He hasn't been identified. I cant imagine how the family feels knowing their son went to that school and never returned home.

Also I'd imagine he showed signs of mental health, but guess what there's no asylums in America so what could they do? kids are sneaky a 17 year old is even worse they can find out the gun vault code etc this could all be stopped if asylums were a thing. There's wayyyy too many mentally unstable and deranged people walking around with no where to go for help except places for suicide contempting people thus people with mental problems don't get help we need asylums.

Wouldn't that work huh! how about we start there instead of going right for the guns and destroying the culture that protects your right to free speech and liberty. And yes the second amendment was brought up when one shot muskets were a thing. But the thing is that the founding fathers wrote the 2nd amendment to always protect you from the government. Always and forever. And at that time the government was not as strong and their weapons were not as advanced as today. But over time the government's weapons have become much stronger therefore our weapons must also become a little bit stronger too. In other words, it is linear. And no we shouldn't have tanks or any of that extreme stuff, all we need are guns because the civilian population over powers the government population, so each civilian having a gun will over power the government and there weapons.

There are mass killings in Belgium; it's just less common. Belgium only has half the murder rate of the US, so don't hold your nose too high in the air, epecially considering that Belgium has *double* the robbery rate. And, it's not just firearm restrictions that contribute to having half the murder rate and double the robberies. Knives, pepper spray, or anything else that can be used as a weapon are restricted. The police also have more power in stopping, searching and arresting people.

I dont care if it's a gun issue or a mental health issue; the bottom line is that children are dying in schools - a place they should be safe to learn and grow. Solve the issue! Less guns, more mental health/backgrouns checks, whatever! It does not matter. Those in charge - making tons of our tax-paying money - need to solve this and stop delaying.

Mental health is so fragile in today’s world.
