I have been making interactive PowerPoints as my main sellers for math and phonics. A big thing to make it go faster is have two templates in PowerPoint. One to create the slides and flatten. The second to add the PNGs and have the buttons. I use transparent shapes to make my clickable buttons. When I make a new product, I just edit the first PowerPoint with the new content/clip art. Flatten. Insert the PNGs into the second PowerPoint by changing image. Done. Then I go into Google Slides and import my second PowerPoint and its done. This allows me to have a PowerPoint version for those that want it on PC/Mac/iOS (PowerPoint is free on it) or a Google Slides option for Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.

Such a good idea! I’m going to use this but for math. Thank you for sharing!! I wouldn’t have thought of this if you hadn’t shared this. Definitely a lot of work but definitely engaging. Thank you again 😄
I'm wondering about including music on a Google Slide for TPT. Since you're a music teacher, I thought you might know. I know how to add music (having to have it in your Google Drive). But when you add the slide deck to TPT, will the music link still work as long as that file stays in your Google Drive?
Hi Becca! Thank you! Could you please explain how to do drag and drop on google slides. My items drag but not on PRESENTATION mode...the kids will be using presentation mode correct?
Nope. If you want to drag and drop, you'll need to be in edit mode. You will need to make a copy for every student (which is an option on Google Classroom). There are some Chrome extensions that allow you to drag in presentation mode, but the kids would have to to have the extension in order to use it.
Good stuff. What is the BEST way to have a slide in which the student can type into a blank or box? As if on a worksheet . . . Is there a "go-to" way of doing this? Tia . . .

Hi Becca , For uploading a Google slides resource on TPT , what should be the settings regarding 'share' of the file that's saved as Google slides in the drive ? I mean should it be 'Anyone with the link' or 'only me' or something else ? I hope I am able to put up my question in a clear way ! Thanks.
Becca, I know that you do mostly elementary, but what about the student typing within a Slide, a fill-in-the-blank exercise? Or a short sentence? Any quick tips? Would i just leave extra room within the text box?
Great video. Thank you for sharing it with us. I want to ask you, is this type of educational means popular because I am thinking of making my store specialize in such educational resources. What do you think??
Thank you for this. Unfortunately, I put a lot of work into a lesson that had both drag/drop and clickable links both. It seems like drag/drop on work in edit mode, and clickable links have one extra step if in edit mode (where you click on the answer and it pulls up SLIDE 9 for example - and that needs to be clicked on). Is this the case? I will put the lesson on hold until I know for sure because it was so much work! Just like you say. Google Slides interactive lessons take a lot of time. Grr.
hi! can i ask you a question? i am currently creating a game on PPT and I have clip arts that move (animations). How do I flatten this? Or protect the animated clip arts? thank you!
Hi! I did some research, and I have not found a way. My suggestion would be to only have clipart you made yourself or simple shapes like hearts, squares, etc that move. Sorry!
Not that I have found. You can put answers but not self grading. You can make a Google Forms for that. I will actually use the same pictures as the slides for my forms.
Thanks Becca, I just finished my first interactive food/nutrition game ever!! Your video is great but maybe just a bit more detail at the end there about exactly how to duplicate the slides for each question would have helped. I figured it out after some trial and error, thanks for teaching me this! (Teachtechnology)
Hi, thank you for the great video! I would like to ask you if you know of a way that when you sell these on TPT it gives a link to the user to open them in presenting view only? This way students won't be able to edit it
You cannot adjust the sharing settings on Google products. I put it in the description, and I've started putting a slide that says whether it should be in edit mode or in presentation mode, and sometimes a slide explaining that to teachers.
This is very helpful. Thank you! I have 2 questions: (1) Why not use Power Point for the whole project? (2) Do you instruct kids to go to “present” mode?
You can use ppt but I prefer slides, and I find most teacher prefer slides at the moment. Also, you would still need to save as images and reinsert to protect your clip art and fonts (and also because if everything is editable the kids make a MESS of it
Yes! Usually I put a slide in the front that says to click present. Also with slides you can do it as view only and then they have to use the present button
Thank you so much for this video! It's so helpful! I have a question about pictures and images from Canva. Can I use them to create a product for selling?
Hello. I have been working on a digital notebook, so the students just need to click on the “tab” (like the tab dividers in a traditional 5-subject notebook) to go to the slide they need. Is there a way to lock the position while also still allowing the tab (link) to be clickable? I’m concerned they’re going yo accidentally move them all around.
I typically add the tabs and all that kind of stuff into the background. So I’ll make it in keynote or you can even do it in Google slides save it as a photo and then insert it into the background. When it’s the background they can’t move it. Then you can add an invisible box on top of the tag and have that feeling. That box can still move around so Do be aware of that but you have a lot less issues than if they can move everything on the slide
I see a few people asked about giving a link to the user so the slides go into Present mode. Can't you change the URL on the link so it forces the Google slides to be in present mode. This is similar to changing the URL so it forces a copy.
I used your video to create a math time review and want to upload it to TPT. What do I do next? I have never uploaded anything on TPT from google slides. Please help! Thanks!

Hi Becca. This video was super helpful, thank you for posting. Would you be able to explain the specific sharing settings you clicked on in Google Drive before putting your slideshow up on TPT (example-view only vs edit, link sharing on or off etc.). Thanks so much.
Hi.... Rebecca. It’s always nice to talk to someone with my name. It doesn’t matter-TPT will automatically make it to how it should be. And everyone gets a copy of your product, so if they modify it, it does not mess your copy up. And of course, if you modify it for your kiddos, make a copy!
I have a drag and drop activity that I use in PowerPoint and I want to put it on TPT in Google Slides. My question is this: What sharing restrictions do I use to upload this product? I am unsure how to move forward with this part.
You don’t have to worry about the sharing settings! Tpt deals with it for you. Here’s a link to a video that talks all about uploading google slides th-cam.com/video/hmCuR-SOfSw/w-d-xo.html

Thank you for sharing this wonderful knowledge. I had know idea how to do this thing and have been searching a long time to get someone to teach me this. After watching your video I tried doing this and it came out so wonderfully. I do have 1 question. If some one clicks, outside the space where the options are given it just takes them to the next slide without answering the question. Can you please let me know how to solve that issue?
I’m so glad it was helpful! Yes, that is a problem. I usually just make the areas rather big so no one misses it and hopefully they don’t click anywhere else.
@@BeccaDavis This is something that I tried and worked very well for me. Except the 1st question I just selected all the remaining slides and selected skip slides. So it wont be visible during the presentation. I inserted a shape like a background on the "Try Again Slide" and made it transparent and linked the background to the previous slide. Thus creating a loop until they get a correct answer. You can give it a try too.. I know it is a little more additional steps but once we get an idea it is easy to incorporate into other slides. Cheers!
Hi Becca, your videos have helped me so much! Thank you!!! I just started my TPT Seller’s journey and I’m super excited. I teach math and what I want to do is take a concept, create the slides presentation, guided notes, 2 activities (in paper and digital format) and an exit ticket. How would I load everything to TPT together, I don’t want to sell them individually, maybe I’m missing it, but it seems like I can only upload one file per product. Thanks in advance.
Hi! So you can only upload one file. If you really want them all together, you can put them into a folder and zip it (right click>compress). Or you can upload them individually and then bundle them together.
If you want some help, I have a free TPT checklist and guide to get your store off of the ground! You might be past this but it might help! mailchi.mp/882d03223673/getting-started-checklist
Becca Davis I did see this and I am mostly past these stages. I’ve created my website, TPT store, logo, and several products. What would really help me is a class after the startup phase. For example how to upload, bundle, MARKET (that’s a big one), etc. Please let me know if you have a class or video for this.
I have a new course and book that both focus on what I consider to be the next steps- bundles, marketing with social and email, being efficient in product creation, etc. you can check out the book and course here: becca-s-music-room.teachable.com/p/level-up-your-teacher-business
I just created a game like yours but with different a theme, should I do one for Google Slides and 1 in powerpoint? Or 1 just in Slides? This is time consuming.
Hi Becca, thanks so so much, this is so helpful. I have a question: is it possible to send this interactive games to the students by email, so they play in the own computer? Will the game still be interactive? Sorry, maybe it’s a very basic question, I am very new in this :) thanks
Yes! Just go into the share button, then click “anyone with link can view” (that will let them see the presentation but not edit anything) and then send that link in your email!
Hi Becca! Do you upload and sell editable powerpoint projects to TPT? DO you lock the files in some way so people can not edit them and redistribute your work or are you ok with that.
Hi Sean! When I do editable powerpoints, I make it, save the slides as pictures, reupload them, and put the editable part on top. So if there’s a place to type, I make a text box on top. This way I protect all of the clip artists.
@@BeccaDavis Hi Becca! thanks for the info. When you sell your interactive google slide project how do you prevent your buyer from dragging and changing everything in your carefully designed presentation? Does it matter if they do change it?
Hi Becca! Thank you so much for making this video - as a TPT seller new to digital products, this information is so helpful! I have a few questions you may or may not know the answer to. Do you need a g-suite business account to create commercial products or is a regular google account fine? Also, is there a special way to save and upload your google slides to tpt so that the document cannot be changed/edited by someone else? I am apprehensive about using purchased fonts and clip art in un-flattened digital products. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
Kate Cranage Hi! I don’t think you need a commercial account, but I will double check that because I had not thought of it. The whole point of saving everything as a picture in PowerPoint is to make it so people can’t take the clip art. I am still figuring everything out, so I don’t know if another way to flatten them in Google Slides
Hi- Just throwing this in. I have a TpT store and get 99.9% of my images from pixabay. I edit them on picmonkey. So much easier than worrying about purchased clip art. My TpT store is Susie’s Notebook. 🖤
@@andreadavis1250 Hey, I am also dealing with a similar problem. I would like to ask. Are you taking the paid images from pixabay or the free ones..? Or both..? I heard that Teachers Pay Teachers platform allows you to use only purchased content. If that is so, then how do you escape the Copyright.?? Please help me. I am new to TpT.
So, I am a physics and math teacher, how does this help students learn the subject? I am not being a critic, just not sure if this is useful to my goal.
Hi Becca.. I have seen many of your videos. Your work is really very helpful for all those who are planning to contribute into the field of Academics in the times of Pandemic. Thank you so much. I am planning to join TpT. But I have lots n lots of doubts. I hope you would help me : Just to understand a rough idea of pricing standard. What should be approx price of the product that you created in this video. So that I get some relative scale of marking the price. One more thing, I tried creating a similar product, But when I presented it on Google docs, and I clicked the empty space (i.e. anywhere outside the 4 tex boxes of options), it simply moved to the next slide. That would simply defeat the Interactive Game Experience. How can we solve this problem?? Any idea..??
This product is $4. You can see a pricing video here: th-cam.com/video/ByZ_Yn4ZD8U/w-d-xo.html You may not have hit the "apply" button. If you put the box there, it should work. But after you put the link to the new slide, you have to click apply or it won't work.
I find PowerPoint easier than slides to deal with. The other thing is that when you save slides as picture in google, you have to save each one separately which is super obnoxious. On PowerPoint you can save them them quickly.
Ohhh thank you! That’s true. Also, I accidentally put in my multiple choice options and saved that as a picture on PowerPoint :/ can I insert transparent boxes so that it doesn’t cover choices? Or do I have to do it over? :(
@@jnajjar87 Yes, you can do transparent boxes! This is what I typically do. Just stick a box over top, make it transparent, and make the line around it transparent too!
@@BeccaDavis Thank you for replying. Let me clarify my question. I see your videos on to create a 'drop and drag' google slide, but it would help me to see the steps in posting it in tpt. Thanks 😊again.

Hi Becca, If you dont mind I want to ask you few questions. Actually I am setting up my store. To plan about the kinds of resources that I want to prepare, I need ur help. 1. how many of this type of products with clickable options have you created..?? 2. If you compare the sale of these type of resources vs other digital resources like those where students have to type the response using keyboards in textboxes. Which of the sale responses have proved to be more income fetching..?? 3. Why have'nt you created enough of such clickable interactive slides much. Is it because the cost benefit ratio..? (Pls correct me if I m wrong anywhere) 4. I havent seen too many of TPT sellers talking and discussing about these clickable interactive google slides. Why are these so unpopular..?? (If they are) Pls correct me if I m wrong. 5. Boom cards provide almost the same functionality. Pls explain me about the pros and cons of boom learning vs Google slides interactive digital product. Do you think boom-learning has captured the market of google slides..?? I mean, is it because the people who wanted to buy such self assessment quizes are buying from boomlearning, but not from google slides. Pls tell about what you think in this regard n correct me if I m wrong. 6. In what way this resource is supposed to be used by a teacher. I mean, is it that the teacher will share a copy of this resource with every student n every student will himself / herself use it in his/ her computer. Or is it supposed to be used by the teacher only, while presenting a zoom meeting.??
Hi Anshul! These do sell pretty well. They are very different concept and functionality wise from the other Slides products that I use so I can't really compare them. Quite a few teachers in the music space use them. Now, I typically pair them with a Google Form to make them even more valuable. I either send it to my kids in view only or we do it together on Zoom or on the board. I usually have them type their answers in the chat. I use the same slides to create boom cards. Some teachers don't know about boom cards or want to use them, and prefer the slides versions.
@@BeccaDavis Thanks Becca. May I know how do you pair these Clickable google interactive Slides with Google forms. Pls share the link if you have made a tutorial or demonstration of the steps u follow while linking it with Google forms.
So that the background cannot be moved. With my kids, it’s because they will move everything around and then not be able to complete the activity. Also, with music, I need my music fonts in PowerPoint for most of my stuff. As a TPT seller, it protects my clip artist and allows me to do more decorative things- Slides is a bit lacking. If you don’t want to do PowerPoint then don’t, but it’s the best for me

Here’s one th-cam.com/video/hmCuR-SOfSw/w-d-xo.html
Cheers!
How do I disable the auto transition to the next slide? I could see my kids clicking the slide randomly.
Now I put the box connected to the "wrong" slide over the entire slide. Then the right answer box just over the right answer
Thanks. The video was very helpful!
I'm so glad you think so!
Awesome video. Thank you so much for posting this, it was super helpful!
Molly Steele I’m so glad!
And here’s a video about uploading: th-cam.com/video/BHv3ZuZmqao/w-d-xo.html
Holy cow, I had no idea you could make a game by linking slides to each other in Google slides. Thanks so much for sharing! 🎶🌈☮️
It’s life changing!
I just created a game like yours but with different a theme, should I do one for Google Slides and 1 in powerpoint? Or 1 just in Slides? This is time consuming.
It is time consuming! But I’ve sold quite a few. I just do them in Slides.
Becca Davis ok thank you so much!
Im motivated to make digital resources like the one you taught me how to do to sell on TPT. I love your videos!
@@BeccaDavis that’s amazing! Thank you!! 😊😊
How do you upload it where the presentation cannot be changed by the buyer?
You don’t have to touch the share settings! Tpt will make them a copy.
Which means they can change anything except the background
Thanks!
How do I attach the interactive google slides to my tpt account without giving everyone the original copy to edit?
I have a whole video about that! th-cam.com/video/hmCuR-SOfSw/w-d-xo.html
Save as pictures just blew my mind. Lol. How have I never noticed this option.
Isn't that crazy?! It blew my mind the first time too, and now I use it ALL THE TIME.
So, I am a physics and math teacher, how does this help students learn the subject?
I am not being a critic, just not sure if this is useful to my goal.
It depends on your goal. This is more of a review type activity.
Hi Becca.. I have seen many of your videos. Your work is really very helpful for all those who are planning to contribute into the field of Academics in the times of Pandemic. Thank you so much.
I am planning to join TpT. But I have lots n lots of doubts. I hope you would help me :
Just to understand a rough idea of pricing standard.
You can see a pricing video here: th-cam.com/video/ByZ_Yn4ZD8U/w-d-xo.html
You may not have hit the "apply" button. If you put the box there, it should work. But after you put the link to the new slide, you have to click apply or it won't work.
So what was the point of doing it on powerpoint first? You can save as an image on slides too.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
The music is a little distracting How do you post?
Sorry about that. I post them on teachers pay teachers. Just click add new listing and then digital.
@@BeccaDavis Thank you for replying. Let me clarify my question. I see your videos on to create a 'drop and drag' google slide, but it would help me to see the steps in posting it in tpt. Thanks 😊again.
I actually found a Google slides add on that allows you to insert ALL THE PICTURESNIN AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BACKGROUND! IT IS AMAZING. ITS CALLED SLIDES TOOLBOX. IF YOU CLICK ADD ONE AND GET ADDONS.
That's amazing!
Hi Becca,
If you dont mind I want to ask you few questions.
(Pls correct me if I m wrong anywhere)
4. I havent seen too many of TPT sellers talking and discussing about these clickable interactive google slides.
Why are these so unpopular..??
(If they are)
Pls correct me if I m wrong.
@@BeccaDavis
Thanks Becca.
May I know how do you pair these Clickable google interactive Slides with Google forms.
Pls share the link if you have made a tutorial or demonstration of the steps u follow while linking it with Google forms.
I am confused why you start out with powerpoint?
So that the background cannot be moved. With my kids, it’s because they will move everything around and then not be able to complete the activity. Also, with music, I need my music fonts in PowerPoint for most of my stuff. As a TPT seller, it protects my clip artist and allows me to do more decorative things- Slides is a bit lacking. If you don’t want to do PowerPoint then don’t, but it’s the best for me
please invest in a new computer! haha. I just got a 2015 macbook pro on ebay used / refurbished / updated and it is fast and a workhorse. I would go nuts if the workflow was full of stutters. I dealt with stuttering and lag for so many years and now... NEVER AGAIN! ahahaha
I did! I got a new one when that one finally but the dust and I cannot believe that I took so long. GAME CHANGER. THAT THING WAS 10 years old.
