  • This is a short video on how to get your Mexican Citizenship. I was confused going through the process with the other videos on youtube so I tried making it short with as much information to get you feeling confident and knowledgeable. In this video I talk about:
    The Docs needed
    -Your birth certificate, passport, and drivers license, application
    -Your parents Mexican birth certificates, passports and drivers license
    *Also their marriage certificate if they got married before having you.
    -How to schedule your appointment with the consulate
    Getting your dual citizenship and passport on the same day!
    -Pros and cons of being a dual citizenship
    This is the link for the application you need to fill out: chrome-extension://hbgjioklmpbdmemlmbkfckopochbgjpl/file:///C:/Users/ab301/Downloads/SOLICITUD%20RC%20v090418.pdf

    I scheduled my appointment on the internet for at the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles on 04/11/2024. I selected "Passport etc" (it was wrong). I took they day off. They turned me away for not selecting the correct choice "registro Civil" was the correct choice. They told me to call again. It takes days before they have appointments available. Parking is $20.00 across the street..

Prior to the U.S it was Mexico and then it was New Spain. I am a Mestizo half Spanish half Native American who identifies strongly with my New Mexican heritage. @rockerbaby0403 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JuniorLA213 Are you trying to claim Mexican citizenship via both your parents? It’s still very doable. You’ll have to have both parents Mexican birth certificates and your father’s death certificate. If you are over the age of 18, your parents are not required to go with you, but you do have to present their marriage certificate if they were married. That should satisfy the ID requirement for your parents so you shouldn’t need to present a photo ID for them.

    • @rockerbaby0403
      @rockerbaby0403 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If your parents are naturalized US citizens, they are still Mexican citizens as well since the US does not require you forfeit your original citizenship. If they know their CURP you can get a valid copy of their birth certificate online to print at home. As long as you have that and their US ID/DL, it should meet the qualifications for ID verification.

    I’ve had mine for a while, since my parents did all the leg work when I was born. This is pretty good info. The only thing I do take issue with is the “no sabo” dig. My first language is Spanish, and I strongly feel everyone should know at least two languages, what I don’t agree with is belittling those who don’t. Por encima de todo, el respeto y la integridad hacia los demás y hacia nosotros mismos.

      That’s fine. You really only need to prove one of your parents is Mexican.

    Question, were you under 18? I read that on the consulate page you dont need to bring your parents just their documents with you.
    Secondly, were you able to get the passport and INE the same time?
    Lastly, did you make one appointment for both or two seperate for the certificate and passport?

      Excuse the late response but I was 19 when I did it and because the consulate wasn’t busy I was able to make one appointment and do it same day

      I ended up having mine done in mexico via insertion/inscription of foreign birth certificate so I only have one last name and my suffix, the consulado took months to schedule a dual citizenship appointment so I did it through a lawyer in mexico (they already had my documents because they to annul a invalid acta that had me as born in mexico)
      So my US and mexico passports show my name as Juan Iguana Jr.
      If I did it in the consulado as a normal birth registration it would've been Juan Iguana Sanchez.
      I'm glad to have both documents matching as I know people always need to clarify why names don't fully match since mexico gives you the extra surname

    What if the long form is long gone ?

    • @adrianbalderasc
      @adrianbalderasc  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you mean the long form birth certificate then i would go online and search up "get long form birth certificate" on google and it should take you to a page with the county or with Social Security and you can go through the process to get a new one. I believe you have to pay a small fee for it so I'd double check

      Now u can do it with only 1 parent. Before it wasn’t like that. You just need them to go with you to ur appointment make sure you make an appointment to become a citizen before you get a passport. If you make the wrong appointment they will not give u the chance to switch it last minute.
