I got about 80% of this castle in a bulk buy. I decided to build it to add to my city as a tourist attraction. Still in search of two of the banner flags at a reasonable price. I added the Dragon knights dragon and wizard from set 70403 and added the Queen from that same set. I would love to have room for some of the newer castle sets but this works perfect for my purpose.
Oh that’s a great idea for this set to use it in your city like that! It’s definitely kinda built for something like that!
deals happening in the youtube comments! I love it. At first I thought you were talking to me and I was really confused. lol.
oooooo CASTLE.
Not the best castle set ever, but I think it provides a good base for expansion or mocs
I think Castle 2013 was just a bit too juniorized after Kingdoms which ended with the Joust and Mill Village Raid (which were amazing). It also has had to compete with Lord of the Rings and Hobbit sets. Unfortunately, I think Lego then went in a "unique" direction with Nexo Knights. I'm glad that experiment is over and we are back to getting good castle sets with the blacksmith shop, lion knights' castle, and medieval town square.
Yeah that’s what it seems. I don’t have a lot of experience with sets from that era but it is very simple of a build overall. Definitely glad they are going more traditional medieval and detailed!
love the color scheme, castle minifigures but the paneling is not for me. I think they deserve an updated castle
Totally agree. The paneling can work in very small doses but there were like 20 or something in the set? It makes up so much of the set and just looks so flat.
Nice! I'm with you on your thoughts on price. Sometimes I have a lot of fun building something, but I also tend to get stuff for comparatively cheap. Don't think I could have as much fun at full price.
Totally! The thrill of the deal is definitely part of it too 😉
