If you like lore then you've come to the right place.
We get at least 1 story related thing every month (71 across 5 years) and they range in quality and quantity but some have been longer than best selling novels. Lone Trail for example is longer than the longest book from the Chronicles of Narnia series and it's not even the longest Arknights event. Being new doesn't limit your ability to read it either since the majority of it (everything except for Collabs) gets stored in archives to be reviewed when you want (you get to unlock 1 each week IIRC as a new player).
In addition to that, we have like 330-340 operators and climbing and each one gets their own dossier of text as well as a little mini manga story about them. Both are gated behind investment for the operator though.

If you have a sense of empathy and can into to the story - then yes, you will cry. But not at the beginning, no. The first time is in chapter 6 most likely, especially towards the end. Then, after the 8th chapter, when ( if ) you go through the event “Babel ” - the story will break your heart, and the 14th chapter will rip it out completely...
Lmao, my most emotional was chap 7, then 6, then Lingering echoes And thats pretty much it for the depresso for me. Chap 14 is mostly hype, and babel is something else

Welcome new Dokutah. I hope you enjoy the game! I started six months ago and found that the lore and worldbuilding go way deeper than most games even attempt. It's well worth diving into. Please don't judge it on the first few story chapters. It's pretty slow and not paced that well. Everything picks up around chapter 5, and it's a wild ride from that point forwards. You could watch the anime and "skip" the first chapters - the anime is adapted directly from the story but it's told better in the anime.
Rhodes Island refers to the Isle of Rhodes IRL, home of the Knights Hospitallier in the Middle Ages. They were sovereign group who operated hospitals and had one of the most powerful militaries in Europe - which pretty much is exactly the same as your organization in the game. Arknights means "Ark" + "Knights" - Rhodes Island is a ship that, like Noah's Ark, is trying to safeguard life during a world-ending apocalypse, and Knights can be a reference your group being like the Knights Hospitallier mentioned before. In a even more literal sense, the Doctor is Noah trying to save a ship full of animals that come together from all over the world.

Yeah... Arknights is a slow-roller. The early stages are the most basic of basic Tower defense, and it takes a while to get anywhere interesting.
Edit: Not saying it's bad! Just takes a while build enough of a team to get to the fun stuff.

Wow, after watching the whole stream (playback) I'm going to give you a sub.
I must say that this game is REALLy great. It is good in any aspect you could think of for a gacha game.
The only one that might be bad about this is that if you are not enjoying the story-telling of the story (like Light Novel,....) then it might be bad. But of course, it's very very rewarding if you give it a try and it's not like you can't just press skip like the game G. You also get a summary if you want to skip it.
This could be really fit for streamers' content because you can just stream reading the story with the chat and no one will complain.
Going to join the next stream to inform you about the game. Really appreciate the chat for not spoiling anything tho. They don't even spoil the gameplay, what a gigachad-chat.

How food is Arknights Music? Well, it won the "Hollywood Music Award" for Live "Concert for Visual Media" in 2023 for their "Ambience Synthesia" concert, was nominated in the same category in 2021 and 2024 and was also nominated for "Original Song - Video Game" for "Renegade" in 2020.
So yeah, I'd say Arknights Music is pretty good.

tbh, the story is interesting on main Story(campaign) but some side story is kinda mid you can skip it or if you need more context to character you like, you can go in to it some detail about character. well enjoy the new game Dokutah.

im sure that chat told you, but the gender of the dokutah is left ambiguous so you can self insert yourself into the story. So if you want the dokutah to be female, the dokutah is female. If you want the dokutah to act like lucina she acts like lucina
