This latest release presents many noteworthy features and innovations, as well as a focus theme: Healthy Meeting Culture.
We focused on supporting user-centric usability improvements based on extensive user feedback, reducing cognitive load, friction in everyday tasks and user patterns, and adding efficiencies - even automations - to your workflows within Nextcloud Hub.
A number of new AI-powered features rely on the integrated, industry-first on-premises Nextcloud Assistant, a large language model that enables users to summarize text or email threads, change writing to be more or less formal, translate chat messages, and more.
The AI features are optional and administrators have a choice between various open source on-premises and SaaS solutions, including ChatGPT, Deep-L and more.
Nextcloud's Ethical AI rating system provides transparency in the privacy and data sovereignty implications of the various AI options - as usual, you are in control.
In a major development, Nextcloud Hub 6 introduces a new app ecosystem innovation: the ability to build Nextcloud apps in languages other than PHP.
Apps can be written in any REST-supporting language, and a convenience library was built for Python, with two example apps. The new architecture offers significant stability, security, API longevity, and scalability benefits.

This was so much more informative than Microsoft presentations
Local AI cool
Could you please implement BIDIRECTIONAL sync in the mobile app? Now it's only possible to setup uploading new files or download existing files. But there is no bidirectional sync still in the mobile app as far as I'm aware of.
"gently suggesting that it's time to wrap up and move to the next task" - that is such a passive aggressive feature. i dislike long meetings, but i hope that this will be configurable as to the time span and the messages, and also the time periods or meeting rooms.
i.e. don't show it to people who are on-call and in some session in the middle of the night.
Agreed. As someone who works on backend infrastructure with frequent long calls that are necessary, this would get irritating quickly.
Oh hi Brent
Nextcloud is awesome - but I'm still missing the option to write html emails, which is kind of annoying, since it's basically a requirement - and requested already several times before. A little pity for the work done for the rich text editor, but I think rich text is already as outdated as plain text nowadays.
With NextCloud Groupware...can you integrate third party email services and can you move an email into a client folder in Nextcloud? In the Insurance and Finance space that email becomes part of the underwriting file. Multiple people need access to those files. Having the ability to move that email to that folder would be awesome.
Fascinating insight into a potential feature... lovely, thanks for the input!
My notes app has so many features I don't use.
So muss das!
