According to "MotorTrends," at least 42 brands are sold in the United States. We can assume each brand sells 20 models; this would cost Roblox $8.4M if each model license were sold for $10,000. It is only taking 0.5004% of Roblox's profit.
Ya that's true but if each car company will cost 8.4mil dollars+car brands from other countries you can see it will quickly add up to well over 2-3bil dollars and the driving ganra doesn't even make that much every year sure driving games make well over 10s of mils but that's not enough for the billion of dollars needed for licenceing and roblox is also a bs company so either all driving games have to chipp in or they will have to continue making fake models.
Thing is a license isn’t $10,000. One of my friends has some experience with a different game, they had to pay around $400,000 for a license from Lamborghini.

I thought that if they changed the names and logos on the cars like they have done in southwest florida then they would be fine, the car companies can copyright their names and their logos but not the looks of their cars. Maybe its only older cars in these games that use the real logos and names and thats why they are getting removed.
BMW has a copyright on the shape of their grille. If that's possible, you can absolutely copyright the shape of a car as a whole. However, Rockstar's been getting away with it for years by making minor changes to the designs and luckily the SW Florida devs are planning to do the same.
Car companies don’t care really lol, they only started caring when people starting reported it because they don’t want to see their cars being gambled around. If de didn’t just make that stupid decision everything would be fine right now.

I think roblox could probably afford licensing as they are a multi million-billion dollar company/game but I just don’t think they would cuz car games like there’s a very slim chance some little car games with at most usually 30k players are pulling in enough to have them make a profit off buying licensing s

Charging money for the cars themselves is the problem. SW Florida used in-game money to buy the cars, and then added the option to buy in-game money with real-world money. GTA Online does the same thing with parody brands and gets away with it, why is SW Florida being bullied about it? Also why are some brands being removed from my inventory and some are just being removed from the store? Honda's have been removed the store and the inventory, so has Audi, but some other unnamed brands have only been removed from the store. I'm happy about this and won't give the names of the cars I can still spawn but not buy.
I still don’t understand how JailBreak is one of the top games yet they keep adding unlicensed cars. Just added a Bugatti and never got rid of Lamborghinis
Roblox doesn’t make the games. So there for, it’s up to the creator of the games to get the car licenses. Not Roblox , I know that it’s dumb, but that’s how Roblox works. If you want to use realistic car brands in your game it’s up to you to purchase that license not Roblox. Yes I know it’s absolutely dumb

I don't get why sw florida or greenville have to remove their cars bc they didn't have that feature included in their games yet have to remove the cars from their games due to legal reasons still.
