Welcome to "Gettin' Knotty with Mike", a series of short "How To" videos on how to tie different Fishing Knots. This is the "Rapala" knot. Hope you enjoy!
Simple? That does not seem like a simple knot to me. The explanation of it was great, but the knot itself seems like the love child of an arbor knot and an improved clinch knot.
Good video. Just curious, I’ve noticed that some other video tutorials on this knot don’t bring the tag end back up through the last loop created prior to cinching it up at the end. Is that step really necessary? PLMK ASAP. Thanks for your time. Stay safe!!!
0:45 ... the tag end should have gone in through the other side of the loop. 1:18 ... again, the tag end should have gone in through the other side of the loop. 1:25 ... this unnecessary step defeats the purpose of the Krey knot, which is supposed to have the tag point to the lure (to not snag stuff)
Very simple, best one I've seen on TH-cam

Nice input, thank you. Though I've never run into any difficulties using this knot tied as described. I'll have to try your idea next time I use it.
@Søren, thank you. I stand corrected.

is this knot good for jerkbaits?
I usually use it with spinners and spoons but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be good with crank or jerkbaits.
ok
Really not a big fan of rapala knot. THERE are many sleek, stronger and simple to tie knot(not complicated like this rapala knot) than this one.
This is not correct
Worked for me for YEARS. Thanks for the vague comment. Have fun and keep fish'in
Nothing wrong with that knot
