Fans were in for an action-packed adventure when Sonic 3 premiered in theaters. Introducing Shadow into the franchise gave Sonic an enemy who could match him blow for blow, and who nearly overpowered him in the end. Fortunately, Shadow’s experiences with Maria allowed him to see the error of his ways, and before he could commit to destroying the world, he was convinced to stand down and help protect Earth from Robotnik’s Eclipse Cannon. I like to imagine that Shadow’s redemption was influenced by his friendship with Maria and how she encouraged him to view Earth as his home. To up the stakes in future films, Sonic will need an enemy without the same experiences, say, someone who doesn’t have a heart to sway with kindness, generosity, or friendship.
I’m relieved the film franchise appears to be leaning in this direction, as the mid-credit scene in Sonic 3 introduces the villain: Metal Sonic. After overshooting his race with Tails and Knuckles, Sonic finds himself alone in secluded woods, the perfect place for an ambush. He is attacked by Metal Sonic, a robotic entity with the same speed and strength as the hedgehog he’s modeled after. Sonic narrowly avoids his enemy’s first attack, only to be surrounded by an army of his robotic lookalikes. The army came as a surprise, but it seems that Metal Sonic has the numbers and the means to wreak havoc. Luckily, Sonic seems to have allies, old and new, who can help him protect his home. As I mentioned, Metal Sonic isn’t someone who can be reasoned with, so he’s destined to become a dangerous and unrelenting enemy. In today’s video, I’ll discuss who Metal Sonic could become in Sonic 4.

We saw that sonic's quill goes super when he goes too. So basically if metal sonic was made using sonic's quill which for sure. Then if Sonic goes super in the movie. Metal will too.

Two Amy was sent to earth to find sonic for unknown reasons but then discovered a Eggman base that was making and developed metal Sonic’s as a backup plan to kill sonic
That'd make sense; Notice the first Metal teleported in like the Terminator? Probably because Metal's design was inspired by the Terminator, he even does T-1000's finger wag in Sonic CD.

Sonic 4 should be a sonic cd/sonic heroes adaption, i hope amy rose didn't arrive on the earth alone and she has already big the cat at her side. Shadow should also return in sonic 4 and meet Rouge the bat either in the fourth movie or in a shadow spin off. I hope dr eggman also somehow survived and jim carrey still continue his role
I looked it up and Sonic 4 is gonna be based on Sonic cd and if egg man did survive I think he used rings to do it or shadow probably teleported to egg man and to earth in time I don’t know
Metal Sonic has to be from the future since Ivo Robotnik Eggman didn't have time to create that robot before helping Gerald Robotnik also could Amy Rose be also from the future since she took down those robots with ease

Thats because metal sonic is sonic. Its him in the future. when robotnic finally gets him.turns sonic into a robot. This is why metal can always keep up with him knows every move before he does it. Spoiler alert robotnic kills tails.tails decides to play hero trying to save sonic and the rest of the gang. When robotnic gets sonic.he tourtures him first. He kills all of sonics friends turns the rest of the citizens into robots.the only reason metal trys to kill sonic everytime is cause if he kills sonic he does not exist and his future wont be bad.but if sonic kills him he will in his future later on.
